When it comes to design, having a focal point is a great way to highlight a key element or guide the viewer’s eye to what matters most on your card.
Card Inspiration – Rainbow Flower
One of the things I love about this rainbow flower card is how fun and easy it is to create a design using a quick 3D embossed background with a central focal point. The textured background adds interest and dimension without competing with the main element – the watercolor rainbow flower die cut.
PRO TIP: Using a central focal point also makes it easier to plan the overall layout of your rainbow flower card.
I could spend hours moving die cut flowers and leaves around until I’m happy with the placement, but by deciding on a focal point and centering the design, the process becomes much quicker and simpler. Everything feels cohesive and balanced, and your eye naturally lands on the star of the card.
