🪄 How to Create This Reverse Frame Card
This card looks fancy, but the steps are actually quick and simple:
- Stencil the bold floral pattern onto a square panel.
- Die cut a square frame, keeping the centre piece intact.
- Pop up the centre panel with foam tape to create the reverse frame effect.
- Make sure the floral pattern continues across both pieces for that seamless eclipse-style look.
- Add a white heat embossed sentiment on black cardstock for contrast.
PRO TIP: Adhere the frame border to the base of the card before popping up the centre panel – it’s much easier to keep the pattern aligned.
Card Inspiration – Bold Floral Reverse Frame
One of the things I love about this bold floral card is how striking the design looks with the reverse frame card technique.
The raised centre panel instantly adds dimension, while the floral pattern continues across both the frame and the centre piece, giving it that clever, seamless look… a bit like the eclipse technique, but instead of lifting letters or shapes, you’re lifting the whole centre panel.

To complete the design, I added a crisp black-and-white sentiment was the perfect contrast against all that bold colour.

Give It a Try!
If you’re looking for a fun way to switch up your usual layouts, this technique is such a great place to start. You only need a stencil and a square die set to make it work.
And if you loved this idea, stay tuned – I’ll be sharing two more creative ways to use frames very soon. And I can’t wait to show you what’s coming!
Happy papercrafting,

Special thanks to my crafty assistant, Chad (aka ChatGPT), for helping me stay on track with my Gemini brain, grammar, and spelling… well, all the things! 😄
