Birthday Whoot!

I found a card today that I forgot to share, I remember something about wanting to wait til after her birthday, but that was on New Years Day…   oops.  Love love these sweet owls from from  Art Impressions and they are perfect for my sister who has just a little ‘owl’ obsession.  This is a little different to my normal style, but one I thought she’d like.

Things are a little wet here on the edge of Cyclone Marcia (which was a Category 5), and with more rain to come it’s time to craft. Especially because they have taken my husband away to help (he is a nurse as well) and where he’s gone there is no power, phones and it’s flooded, but apparently they have found some accommodation.  It’s going to be a massive cleanup, but thankfully by some miracle no lives have been lost.  I plan on keeping crafty busy so then I won’t have time to worry.  Hugs,

  1. Such a super sweet card..love the way you used the paper for the background..
i am not good with using my scrapbook papers…
Hope all goes well over there…and that your husband is safe..and you too….

  2. Your card is so cute… I’m sure your sister loved it! It’s great your husband can help with this disaster, but sometimes it’s harder to stay home than to be there in the thick of things! I always lose all track of time when I get into card making! Hopefully, crafting will make the time fly by for you, too, and your husband will be home before you finish a card or two!

  3. I love your cards and videos! I watch you every day. I just found you recently, so i’m watching all of your past videos now too. I will be praying for your hubby and all of you to be safe. thanks for all you do. love, treen

  4. Oh so cute.. why don’t we stamp on patterned paper more often? I will be hoping for your husband’s safety… and yours, Therese! Stay tucked in, and craft away!!

  5. Great to see some patterned paper! I always struggle to use it when I’m stamping as well. You make it look so easy, simples. 🙂 I’m hoping that all involved with the flooding in Queensland keep safe and healthy. I’m sure they’ll appreciate the help your husband can offer. Luckily, my family are safe and dry. It’s just so sad to see the damage done up north.

  6. I have a friend who is “owl-obsessed” also! Your sister is sure to cherish this adorable card.

So glad no lives were lost, but it is a big job to get things cleaned up. Kudos to your hubby for helping out. I hope we get to see the results of your big craft session. :*)

  7. This owl card is super cute!!! I love the tilt of this owl’s head and you’ve made the perfect choice by raising his big eyes with those glossy accents! Have fun crafting in the rain!

  8. This owl is adorable…I love his expression 🙂 Beautiful patterned paper, and I love the font on your sentiment, too! I’m sure your sister is going to love it!
I will keep your hubby in my prayers for his safe return…meanwhile, I hope you will be safe as well!

  9. I have a BIG obsession with owls, haha! So I fell in love with your cute card and I´m sure your sister loved it too!!

  10. I love how you’ve used patterned paper for the background but it doesn’t compete with the image at all…gorgeous colours 🙂
