Altenew January Release Blog Hop II + Giveaway!

altenew_jan2017_bloghop-002

I’m so excited to be taking part in Altenew’s 2017 January release and blog hop, and if you arrived here from Jennifer McGuire’s amazing blog then you are exactly where you need to be.  Today we will be releasing 18 stamp sets, 18 die sets and 12 inks!

Today I have made three quite different cards from this amazing release starting with this sympathy card using the Be a Lighthouse stamp set.  It’s hard to tell, but I’ve popped up the whole front panel so it looks like the Dark Gray cardstock is inset.

My second card is a little more modern, using the fab silhouette girl and matching die from Let the Wind Carry You.  I’m still trying to work out if she’s holding a torch or a paintbrush…  so I’ll let you decide.  I also used some of the new colours from the release, bright greens, oranges and cool grays, it is a dream come true!

In true Altenew style the flowers from this release are amazing!  So for my final card I combined two sets together to create this sweet vase.  I used Smile More and Life is Beautiful along with some Altenew Artist Marker alcohol colouring (they are so beautiful to colour with…  I can’t wait for Altenew to make markers in all their ink colours, hint)

  1. It took me minute to understand the flashlight was the reason for the grey to color. Too cute. Got to check these out. Thanks

  2. Therese, you really have a gift. I’ve been a fan for a long time now; and if anyone influences me to be creative, it’s you. Your project share of the Lighthouse, especially, is so good. I really like the layout.

  3. “Wow” to all of these cards…I looked at them for quite some time….but the way you made that lighthouse “pop” is awesome!

  4. a fabulous trio of cards using color- the grey lighthouse creates a mood. The girl’s bubble demonstrates the message wonderfully and the flowers come alive!

  5. Your designs here are so creative and fun Teresa!! I love the gray toned lighthouse scene and your bubble spotlight design is awesome! I love them all! Thanks for sharing! 🙂

  6. Therese, I just have to say that every time I watch one of your videos, I giggle out loud. You always make me laugh and smile. Your cards are such a delight and I love to watch how you put them together. Thank you for sharing your talents!

  7. Gorgeous cards, Therese! I really love the new silhouette girl…it’s perfect for the cards I create for my granddaughter!

  8. I am loving all the new stamps you released this month! Altenew is very quickly becoming my favorite stamp company. Your stamps are not only large and fun but very versatile! And your inks are to die for! Thank you for the wonderful opportunity to win free stamps! So excited for this new release! All the designers have done a great job on their blogs ❤️❤️❤️

  9. All three of these cards are wonderful. I would never have thought to do the lighthouse in black and white. I really like it. And the splash of color card? Wonderful. I didn’t have a clue what to do with those blotches! Thanks for sharing your talent.

  10. I enjoyed your card with the little girl, great way to add color! And the lighthouse is amazing. Thanks for the chance to win.

  11. I like how the lighthouse panel is floating in the card. My favorite is your third card. I love the floral vase and the layout and colors are beautiful.

  12. These are all fantastic, Therese … the lighthouse is so atmospheric (my fave!), the blooms are beautiful, and the multi coloured splats with the silhouette is positively funky! I wondered if the little girl is blowing through one of those circle things we used to make washing up liquid bubbles with! Hugs, Anita 🙂

  13. Your vase of flowers is truly awesome! Such gorgeous coloring! The lighthouse scene makes a beautiful sympathy card. I think the little girl surely has a torch as she is highlighting all the fabulous colors on your card. I love them all!

  14. I just adore your cards! The way you colored the splashes in your little girl card is so creative! (by the way, she is holding a bubble wand – it’s a little hard to tell with just the die, but it makes a lot more sense with the stamp set, hehe).

I hope you have an amazing weekend! 🙂

  15. Sympathy cards are always the hardest to make. The lighthouse card is just beautiful. That is one I MUST make and soon. Thanks!

  16. The lighthouse card is like a beautiful pen and ink drawing, Therese, and makes a wonderful sympathy. If by ‘torch’ you mean flashlight, I’d say yes that’s what she’s shining on the splats of color. I love how you combined the flowers from one set with the vase from the other.

  17. Wow, you have really out done yourself today with all these gorgeous cards. Love them all especially the lighthouse one – very stylish and inspiring:)

  18. Lovely cards. The lighthouse is not something I would think to use as a sympathy card but it’s perfect. Really serene and comforting. Love the grey. Thanks for sharing.

  31. Each card is special in its own way. I do like the lighthouse one because of how you colored it in the grey tones. Reminds me of the old black and white photos.

  32. Amazing cards!! Each and every one is inspiring and gorgeous!! I keep going back to your lighthouse card – it’s incredible! I love how you popped up the whole front panel to give the effect that the grey is inset.

  33. This is my first visit to your blog–I am glad I did! I think Altenew floral stamps are always amazing. Splash of color also looks fun.

  34. Wow! 3 very different and very cool cards! Lighthouse is like a black & white photo…great guy card. I think the little girl is holding a magic flashlight, showing up the true colors. And your flower card is perfectly classic!

  43. Something speaks to me in all of your cards! I love the grey inset to the lighthouse card-great idea, and what a classy look! The second card basically blew my mind!! I love the grid of color!! And in the third card, the dimensional flowers is such a great look!

  44. Well I thought the little silhouette girl was blowing something from her hand, you know like blowing a dandelion. So to me, it looks like she is blowing paint splatters. I really like it!

  45. Therese, I just love your cards. Are you planning a trip to Melbourne sometime so I can introduce you to some of my truly unique friends? No pressure to teach; just play, talk and eat.

  46. Fabulous cards Therese. I love the framing of the lighthouse scene – very elegant. Awesome design with the let the wind carry you girl shining the torch (I think) on the ink sploshes. Beautiful colouring on the flowers – Altenew floral are always amazing.

  47. WOW WOW WOW I love not only the beauty of your techniques and colors but the surprises. The inset gray of the lighthouse, the little girl blowing color into the air, and the lady bug hiding behind a petal. I cannot figure out how to sign up for email notification of new blog entries. Would you let me know how?

Using the splash of different inks on the second card instead of the usual circles was ingenious! And the third card was as different a style as the first two were. You used more color in this card and made the flowers and vase look very lifelike. Thanks for sharing.
