Video : Altenew Stencil Release Blog Hop & Giveaway!

Altenew have added to their fun stencil collection and we are hopping to celebrate and you should have arrived here from VIRGINIA’s wonderful Blog.  I made some fun cards with this release, so scroll down to see them and the video that I have made showcasing the fab new Grid Stencil as well as to find out how you can WIN!

Let’s start with the cheery.  It was time to get out the Layered Cupcake stamp set and for something a little different I decided to emboss with the Grid Stencil (the video below shows you the process).

Altenew - Layered Cupcake - Grid Stencil - Lostinpaper (card video) 1 copy

it’s ‘no line’ layered stamping today for my cupcake…

Now on to a more serious design lol. as I decided that this card would make a great sympathy design.  The background is Real Gray Cardstock and I added some silver embossing paste with the Splatter Stencil.

Altenew - Garden Treasure - Doodle Blooms - Splatter Stencil - Lostinpaper (card) 1 copy

The flowers were from Garden Treasure and watercoloured with Tombow markers and the leaves from the Doodle Blooms Stamp Set.  My sentiment came from the Thinking of You stamp set and heat embossed with the beautiful new Antique Silver powder.  It’s a very small font and it worked perfectly first time

I wanted a tone on tone background for my final card so I used the Layered Kaleidoscope Stencil A with the Deep Iris cardstock and the matching Crisp Dye Ink.

Altenew - Magnolias for Her - Quilled Elegance - Layered Kaleidoscope Stencil A - Lostinpaper (card) 1 copy

My flowers are from Magnolias for Her and subtly coloured with grey Copics.  I stamped a sentiment from Quilled Elegance in Deep Iris ink and popped this up on a panel beneath the flowers.

I love the cards with the blue flowers and you are right, it is a good sympathy card. That’s the one card I always have trouble making because it’s so personal and sad. I always cry reading the sympathy cards from Hallmark and my dad passed away on March 20th so we got plenty of those cards for me to cry over.
Last but not least is your purple background card with the flowers. I really like that purple color. It’s so stunning!
Thanks for letting us see your pretty cards and for giving us the chance to win something. I want a bunch of those stencils when I win!

  71. Hello, as always your cards are great and inspiring. I have a question have you used the layered dahlia? I just received my stencil yesterday and I have played for what seams like hours and can not get it to work. Do you have any suggestions? Also a video might be helpful. Thanks
