Video : Penny Black Gimme 5 – One Background Five Cards!

I am back with another ‘Gimme 5’ video for Penny Black and today it’s all about one sheet of A4 cardstock….  with a little added stamping and die cutting for fun.

My first card is a bit ‘artsy’  I thought it would be great to use this sweet image as line art.

I kept the layout and sentiment simple, but I really like how those colours look on her face!

These classy cats had a little bit of shimmer added….

It was difficult to decide whether to use just one cat or all of them, so I compromised with three.

Some fussy cutting made this card really quick and easy,

especially with a bold pop of white on black for the sentiment.

And only the smallest part of the cardstock showing here, placed strategically behind the ‘thank you’ die cut.

My final card came out of the blue,

A big shiny sentiment with a big bold elephant, who would have thought?

I had such a blast creating this collection of cards!
You can see my video here or Watch it in HD at Youtube.

Did you know this is being shared at the Penny Black channel as well…   I would love you to check it out HERE!
I hope you had as much fun as I did, have a great and crafty day,

Therese signature 2

  1. Absolutely fantastic color combination for the background Therese, each card is amazing, my favorite is the one with the cats.
Thank you for sharing your videos, I’m off to Pinning for future reference.
    Big Hugs,
    Maria Rodriguez.

  2. These are stunning cards! Love the colors. The one with the elephant (“Dream Big”) is an eye catcher! Seeing these cards … I’m reminded to keep it simple. Sometimes I just get too caught up in trying to do too much to a card. Thanks.

  3. Great collection of cards, Therese. Love the background you created, esp. the colours. I think you’re so clever that none of the cards were similar to the others. It’s always so difficult to do without having some elements being used twice. 🙂

  4. You used one of my favorite stamps EVER…Poetic…and I would never have thought of using it to make backgrounds with with crazy fun colors! I love to Masterboard and will definitely be playing with your design! Every card was fabulous…your work always excites and inspires me. Thanks for the wonderful videos…and thanks for sharing your incredible work with us! ♥♥♥

  5. Gorgeous colors and unique designs…WOW! I’m so impressed with all five cards, Therese…and now I want to CASE them all 🙂

  6. One of my favorite features of your blog (aside from your fabulous use of colors and outstanding design) is the one background five cards feature. You are an amazing artist and I look forward to your blog every day!

  7. Fantastic cards & wonderful video. Love your background paper that you made. So bright & fun & the added pops of black look great. It was nice to see how you used the fun foam – will definitely try that. Thanks so much.

  8. The background you created at the start has the most beautiful colours….and you made 5 gorgeous cards from it…love them all..!! 🙂

  9. Fabulous cards, Therese. I love them all. I think the cat one is my favorite because of the shape of the cats. I’ve had that die on my wish list for some time. The patterned paper you created is such a fun idea.

  10. What a fantastic tropical colour palette for that artsy leaf background, Therese … it’s gorgeous … and every single card is brilliant! I was especially taken with the cats … classy indeed! Hugs, Anita 🙂

  11. I’d seen those ‘big girl’ stamps before, but wasn’t sure I’d get much use from them. After seeing your card, all sorts of possibilities open up! LOVE your use of the Poetic stamp to make your own dp; it turned out beautifully, and in such summery colors, too. Each card is a delight, but if ‘forced’ to choose a favorite, it would have to be that sweet thank you card. What a great die! Thanks too, for doing another of your fabulous videos!! : )

  12. You are soooo awesome ! Therese , Have you seen on Facebook Mimi A LaCarte ,her doing this same leave .. oh if you haven’t ,you have to check it out! I so enjoy your videos ..X hugs Anne
