I am at the Altenew blog today sharing this (little bit bright) card and an easy shading technique that I use with Copics and Prismacolor Pencils.
I adore this fabulous Parrot Paradise stamp set and focused on the bird image (although the leaves in the set are uber funky too).
I stamped the ‘filler’ stamps from the Pattern Play – Hexagon set with alternating bright orange and hot pink inks to create the background.
And oops, I used the Bold Alphabet dies again, but this time with Altenew’s Turquoise cardstock and the rest of the sentiment was stamped from the Sentiment & Quotes stamp set.
You can see my video here or Watch it in HD at Youtube.
Head on over to Altenew for more details or to ‘find’ your very own parrot to colour. Hope you are having the bestest day,
Other Supplies: Copics – 0 / RV02,04 / Y11,17,38 / B02. Prismacolor Pencils – Pink / Process Red / Magenta / Lemon Yellow / Sand / Spanish Orange / Goldenrod / Orange / Burnt Ochre / Light Cerulean Blue / True blue / 70% French Gray.

LOL, “oops…” – that is funny! I finally invested in the set a couple of months ago, and I use them every opportunity I can (for personalised name cards). Anyway, enough about what I am doing….your card is spectacular. I LOVE the bold colours and how you have the parrot hovering over the “YOU”! Gorgeous card Therese 😀
I never would have thought to use that color combo!! How bright, cheery and … WOW!! Must be so great to see parrots around. I love those birds, but they are not part of the landscape where I live. They are so colorful and bright and big and fun looking. Your creative interpretation does them justice in my opinion!!!!
Your card isery bright but it looks amazing! The background just pops and I love the colours!
I love the bright colors on this card and using your pencils to add shading to this Parrot really brings him to life! Once again, you have really showcased these stamps beautifully, Therese!
What a beautiful, bright card and I love the depth of colour you achieved. Thanks for a great video.
Looking forward to the video of this brightly colored card.
A beautiful bright card. The parrot is so beautifully coloured and love the background too.
Oh wow…this one is absolutely fabulous…so vibrant…love it..!!!
Love your card, Therese. Bright orange and pink is one of my favorite color combinations. And, WOW, awesome parrot. It is the most fabulous Altenew stamp yet.
What a cool and colorful card!!!
What a fabulous card. I need to work outside of my box more and maybe I would get comfortable with such bold colors. I certainly love them when I see others create with them. Loved watching you use pencils over comics too. That’s something I’ve been working on. Thanks for sharing.
Wow, Therese … how fabulous … bright, vibrant, tropical … just the exact things that come to mind when I think of Queensland! A brilliant parrot against a delicious background! Hugs, Anita 🙂
You keep me surprising , how can you have an engaging background and a bright, colorful image a bold sentiment and it still gels so well! It never works for me 🙁
