Video : Altenew March 2018 Stamp/Die Release Blog Hop & Giveaway!

Today I have some ‘Mega’ tips in my video to share for the new release at Altenew!  If you are hopping along you should have arrived from FLORA’s fabulous blog.

I have two cards and one video, starting with a very clean & simple design using the Neighborhood Stamp Set.  This is a fun set with some great elements and sentiments and I decided to use just a portion of the main street image.

Altenew - Neighborhood - Pegboard - Therese Calvird (card) 1 copy

I added a subtle background by embossing the Pegboard Canvas Cover Die and popped up a Heart Beat red sentiment.

Altenew - Neighborhood - Pegboard - Therese Calvird (card) 1 copy

I had so much fun creating my second card using the background Mega Succulent Stamp Set and my Zigs to colour.

Altenew - Mega Succulent - Miss You - Therese Calvird (card video) 1 copy

I thought it needed a bold sentiment so used the negative space of the Miss You die cut from some Jet Black cardstock.

I decided to film the process.
You can see my video here or Watch it in HD at Youtube.

  55. A fabulous video for a beautiful card ! Love your green embossing, so cool to outline the succulent petals. And I love your creative way for the sentiment. Stunning showcase. Thanks for sharing !

  56. I always love your ideas and am so glad you usually have videos too. I love this mega succulent. I am going to have to get that in my mailbox 🙂

  57. Therese, am in love with your warm and sweet home card! The succulent card is gorgeous too!! Am so enthralled with the inspiration of this talented line up of designers!

  58. I love that card with the street scene, very cute indeed. The cactus stamp looks great and I think using that bright green embossing powder was quite inspired. Thanks for sharing the video.

  59. I am in love with both of your cards, Therese! That first card is just so cute…I love cards with a lot of white space! And the succulent card is colored so beautifully…it is a real eyecatcher!! Thanks so much for making a video that shows us how you made these very creative cards. I so appreciate it!!

  60. Love both of your cards Therese! I really enjoyed watching you watercolour the succulent with the Zigs and it turned out beautifully!

  61. That succulent is gorgeous, Therese, and the green embossing powder was the way to go. I have a tendency to blend out my Zigs too much so I enjoy picking up tips as I watch you color.

  62. Hi Therese. LOVE your designs as always. Am loving this release with all those fabulous stamps and dies, but find I keep getting drawn to the Hope stamps and dies. ANOTHER product for my wish list, which is becoming ridiculously l o o o o n g. Thanks for your inspiration. Am going hunting back through your designs for your grey flower and leaf cards. I’ve never thought of using greys, but your designs have just stuck in my head and I’ve started colouring / cutting greys, but I’m not satisfied with my designs, so off to find yours for more inspiration, hehehehe. TFS. BEv.

  63. I’m back again – so sorry. I found your grey and purple peony 3d die card, but I’m really rotten on the computer, and I’m sure you have done others as well with the grey flowers. That one stuns me every time I look at it. I wonder if you’d mind if I tried to replicate it? I don’t have the same cardstock, so it wouldn’t be exactly the same. Anyway, won’t do anything about it until you say I can. Do you have somewhere I can find all your cards? Sorry, I’m a giant pain in the butt, I know.

    1. Hi Bev,
It would make me very happy if you CASE’d my card design, that’s why I put them out there and that’s where I get inspiration too. What a wonderful community we have, and if you want to, I would love to see your design! Have a fabulous day, Hugs Therese

  64. Using the green embossing on the succulent was perfect. Lovely colouring as well. Plus your other card is just lovely too

  65. I’m glad you stuck with it through the ugly hot mess stage of the watercolouring process – the finished result looks awesome

  66. You’re water colouring was so worth the little hassle hot mess stage as the finished result is soooooo brilliant, wish even my hot messes looked as good as yours, must mail you a shot of a real oow ! Loving the neighborhood die, really needed that 6 months ago when my daughter got her first ‘ adult’ house.

  67. I’m coveting the cross stitch and the canvas cover dies because I like how they are so versatile. I like how you embossed it to get a completely different look for the background of your card.

  68. I loved the elegance of “happy new home”. the embossed white background made your die cuts and coloring stand out even more so! Thank you!

  69. Beautiful work, I’m loving this March release, so many great things!! Thanks for sharing!!

  70. Gorgeous cards! The embossing on the first card added a great backdrop to both the sentiment and the row of houses. Thanks for the inspiration.

  71. Wow. I would not have looked twice at the mega succulent stamp. But watching how beautiful it became with your water coloring, I am in love with it! Thank you for all your inspiration!

  72. You might be the only person ever to look at that neon green and think “I could no-line with that!” 😀 But somehow, it works! The magic of soldiering on with watercolor. I really like how you got those purple shades in there. I think I would have been to scared to try it, but you can’t argue with those results! Also, what a great idea to use the negative space of the sentiment. I think that creates an entirely different look than the positive and adds a lot of interest. Thanks for sharing such a great card with us!

  73. Gorgeous designs Therese, love both cards, love that mega succulent stamp! thanks for the inspiration!

  74. Love your little row of houses! So sweet! Your Miss You card is lovely! I love how you used the negative for the sentiment!

  75. Stunning card! So relaxing watching you paint 😀 Thanks for the acetate tip when using the negative space for the sentiment. ♥️

  76. I’m going to have to have that pegboard canvas and houses stamp set… love how you’ve used them together and the succulent looks awesome too xx

  77. Beautiful card! I love that succulent stamp, it really makes a statement! Love the idea of using the green embossing too!
