Video : ANZAC Day Friendship Remembrance Video Hop & Giveaway!

I am thrilled to be here today, ANZAC Day is a special day in Australia, it’s a day of remembrance of those that have fallen and been affected by war, but it is also about the friendships and bonds that develop.

Today we have a video hop with both Australian and New Zealand papercrafters, scroll down to find the full list of participants, the link to my video and also to find out how you can WIN!

Lostinpaper - Penny Black - Poppy Gems - Altenew - Mega Greetings (card video) 1

I decided to colour some Poppy Gems from Penny Black today with a technique that I like to call ‘Messy’ Copic colouring (it kinda looks like watercolouring…  if you squint your eyes…)

  1. I love the purple for those poppies. Poppies are my favourite flowers together with forgetmenots.

  2. Absolutely exquisite, Therese! no need of squinting for me to see the water colored look – exactly as you describe as ‘messy’ Copic coloring! LOve the purples… off to watch… xx
    =]

  3. Thank you so much for sharing this new Messi Copic coloring! I’m a watercolor at heart but have some copics looking forward to see how they do!

  4. Lovely card, my friend has this stamp and I’ve used it a lot. Hope you have a nice ANZAC day, lest we forget.

  5. Thank you for sharing about ANZAC day in Australia. I love learning new things about other countries. And, yes, what IS it about the first pancake?!!!! Beautiful coloring. Might have to add that Penny Black stamp to my wish list! Off to meet some new card makers from down under!! Thank you, Therese!

  6. Therese, I don’t consider this “messy” coloring – it’s amazing! Those poppies are just beautiful – I’m going to give this color combo I try. Thanks for a chance to win.

  7. Loved learning about ANZAC day. It seems that most nations do have a day to honor their fallen. I love your poppies, it is a very pretty card.

  8. Your card is stunning ! I love your idea of “messy coloring”, it’s not messy at all to my point of view, it’s just gorgeous !!! Thank you for sharing your creativity.

  17. Thank you so much Therese, for your inspired thought to host this wonderful friendship hop, I have already found a wealth of local crafty folk to engage with and it is only just after 1000. Thanks also for the thought that Copics don’t need to be “perfick” to be wonderful! Dx

  18. Love the messy copic colouring Therese. Beautiful card and the purple poppies is something different and fresh.

  19. Thank you for setting up this hop. I visited many people I didn’t know before and saw many lovely cards.

  20. Thanks Therese, beautiful card and wonderful to share on this day of remembrance for us, Australians and New Zealanders. Lest we forget.

  21. Love this “busy” card! Purples are my favorite colors. This will be a treasure for the recipient, Therese.

  22. I really LOVE the effects of your messy Copic coloring, Therese! I think I’m going to try it!
Thanks so much for another fabulous video!!!

  23. Love this card, the colors, the “messy” coloring with the comics. It makes them less intimidating. I am grateful to learn about Anzac day. I’ve read a number of books about the war which included mention of the Anzac troops and their bravery.

  24. Thanks for sharing this different design! You give me inspiration to try something new! I love you videos!

  25. ANZAC Day – Lest We Forget. Thank you for the demonstration of messy copic colouring. Lovely card.

  26. Thank you so much for the effort you have put into creating a special crafting day to commemorate a special day in Australia and New Zealand’s history. You created a blog hop which was totally worth following through on, with a group of crafty people, most of whom I have not “met” before or did not realise belonged to this part of the world. Thank for a job well done and giving we “hoppers” an opportunity to enjoy such a diverse range of projects from a group of very talented ladies.

  27. Hi Therese, Love your sloppy colouring and those poppy are beautiful, and so is the card, love watching you create your cards, TFS, Lest we forget, Cheers Anna.

  28. I do love watching you color! So relaxing and delightful! (definitely NOT relaxing when I color with alcohol markers. Still a newbie…)

  29. I love this card Therese. The colors are beautiful and seem appropriate due to the reminder of how war affects people. Thank you for sharing this.

  30. Love the purple; it’s just as pretty as your first go around with greens and teal coloring of the Poppy Gems. I searched and purchased this stamp because of your first card. I’ll be recreating your cards soon. Thank you.

  31. This is another lovely card! Your card designs are always such an inspiration! If only my messy water colouring was as beautiful as yours😊

  32. Gorgeous card Therese…just starting the blog hop…I know I’m going to love it coz I know all the ladies in this hop are just fantastic..!!

  33. Therese, the purple poppies are stunning! I know this is not your typical card but I really like how you did it and changed it up! I did not think it was messy but I liked how the ‘messy’ grabbed my attention in the tag line-I thought I would learn a new technique and I totally did. As always, I enjoyed your video commentary!

  34. Purple poppies for Anzac Day…just perfect. The verterans in the march where I live brought a tear to my eyes yesterday…and you always put a smile on my face listening to your commentary!!! Lest We Forget…Hugs Ali xx (Western Australia)

  35. A stunner of a card Therese. Poppies are the one flower associated with war and I feel everyone needs at least one poppy set in their stash. So very important to remember…Lest we forget…

  36. It’s so much fun to watch you color and listen to your chatter, Therese. Those poppies are gorgeous and I may have to get that stamp. I have made several remembrance cards using red poppies.

  37. Another beautiful card for a very special occasion. Watched the Dawn Remembrance Services held in London and in France. Remembrance days always bring a tear to the eye and a lump to the throat at the misery and suffering endured by so many. The beauty and fragility of the poppy makes it the ideal symbol of remembrance and your card captures it perfectly. Thank you.

  38. This is a spectacular card. And I must use the “messy copic” technique. At least now I have a name for my “creations”. 🙂

  39. Such an elegant card. Love both your choice of colours and your messy colouring.
The card is so very special.
    Cheers
    Lisa

  40. So pretty! Just love watching you work! Your videos always hav3 such a calming effect for me! Thanks so much!

  41. Beautiful Card Therese I love watching you create thanks for sharing … Just wondering how you reshaped your katana I have a cheaper version and the wax tip broke off…

    1. Hi Linda, When my hubby was using the Katana the end had become very soft, squashed and the point was totally gone, so I simply just remolded it with my fingers. The wax seemed kind of ‘warm’ at the time and after it cooled it seemed to set again. I hope this makes sense, Kind crafty hugs, Therese

  42. Love this card, especially the purple flowers. Thanks for organising this hop, its been great.

  44. Sorry I’m so late visiting, Therese … been MIA for a while with life stuff!! Beautiful poppies, the loose look is delicious … our purple poppies are coming into bud right now … and they’ll be just like these when they flower! As ever, it’s a joy to watch you create, especially so when you’re honouring the hero’s (in the widest sense) who guarded and maintained our freedoms (and continue so to do). Hugs, Anita 🙂
