Video : What Papercraft Supplies did I Pack for a 4WD Holiday!

Would you like to know what Papercraft supplies I packed for my holiday?  What a drama Llama, I didn’t even know where to start, but in the end we were leaving and I just had to make some decisions…..

So what did I take?
You can see my video here or Watch it in HD at Youtube.

and here I am on the way out the door, this trailer is my home for about the next 3 months….

I think that is a seriously worried look on my face, ‘ I should’ve packed the Heat Gun’ lol.

Have the most funnest day!  Hugs,

  1. Have a great holiday!!
I think you have enough supplies…with you!!
    such a great video..

  2. You have a nice variety of toys to take with you. Of course, if there is something you forgot, there are always stores along the route! Have fun.

    1. hahaha, I know, I already found one only 1km from my sister’s house, and it was fun just to wander. I rarely go to a brick and mortar store as I don’t have any close to me at home. Thanks so much for stopping by, crafty hugs, Therese

  3. Happy Trails to you, Therese! So fun to see what you took with you, and it will be fun to know if you would change it up once you’ve given it a go. Too bad die cut machines are so big and heavy, but I’m sure you’ll be glad you brought it.

  4. Love this!

I did a 4wd trip in 2016 for 3 months and was very pleasantly surprised at what I could fit into my allocated box. I even took the handle off my big shot when storing it to fit more in 😁

If you are coming to Darwin, I would love to meet you and so would my craft group 😍

Have the most wonderful trip 😁

  5. I’m a big fan! One typically overpacks, but I think you did just right. Of course there will be those many times you wish you had brought something you didn’t, but look at it as a way to challenge your creativity, of which you have oodles! Have a great trip, send up updates and maybe attach a map and pictures so us Americans can drool over your trip.

  6. Great video. Always a conundrum what to take on a trip, especially for three months. Enjoy your adventures

    1. That’s a great tip, but I have already caught one of my husband’s Tshirts alight on the gas stove and we don’t have an electric toaster, so that could be a little dangerous for me (and everyone else around) lol. thanks so much for your lovely comments, Hugs Therese

  7. Loved this, so fun to see how you planned. And yes – bands around the mini cube inks! I use Plasti-bands, flatter than rubber bands, but they do stretch out and break more easily. Have a wonderful time.

      1. I realized you had your mini cubes in the long container that holds a set, so no need for rubber bands unless you’re like me and knock things over… repeatedly. Have an amazing trip!

  8. I have no idea how you did that! I would have such a hard time deciding what to pack. I’m going to be moving in a few months, I think I need to watch your video again to help me decide what to leave out and what to pack away.

I have to ask, are the birds in the background your birds, or are they the outdoor birdies? I have parrots and friends with a bird shop. Sometimes I think I hear very familiar birdie sounds in the background!

Have a wonderful and safe trip!

    1. Hi there, I do not envy you packing to move, that is much worse because it’s all the other stresses that go with it as well. As for the birds in the background they are ‘wild’ they fly through and hang around the trees around us, and yes, there are a lot of parrots, I don’t know why, but it seems to me the prettier the bird the screechier it’s call lol. Thanks so much for stopping by and for your lovely comments, Crafty hugs, Therese

  9. I am so impressed with your packing! 3 months is a long time to be away but each day will be different so hopefully you won’t miss your craft room at all! Have wonderful experiences, safe travels and make tons of precious memories to enjoy for years to come. Hugs Ann xx

    1. Hi Lindar, I do have the Mini Blossom die cutting machine which is fantastic and I did consider taking it instead but thought it was worth the extra space to take the larger machine as I could use it to emboss a stencil or I can cut a cover die…. I did consider getting one of the ‘foldaway’ bigshots but they are very expensive in Australia and I have ‘birthday present’ plans to get a Gemini Junior, so it would be just silly to have another die cutting machine on my desk just for a 3 month trip. Also my Bigshot is very old and severely well used so I figured if it broke then I wouldn’t be too upset. Hope this makes sense. Crafty hugs, Therese

      1. I just gave that same Big Shot to my daughter since I invested in a Platinum and a Gemini Junior but now I am having second thoughts. That Big Shot I have had for many years and it still works great. I hope my new ones work for as long. If not, I might need to get my Big Shot back. I have been traveling with my MISTI bag and it works pretty well but I do need a few other things that don’t fit in there.

  10. Hi Therese – so nice to see you on camera – you are gorgeous 🙂
Great idea with the packing – I wish I can take so much with me as I am actually flying to Europe on Monday to be with my mum as she is just finishing her cancer treatment. I will be there for more than 2 months and you gave me an idea in taking some pre-stamped images to colour them with my prismacolors. Wish I had some Copics but I only managed to get 9 so far so not much that I can do with them – one Powerball hey 🙂 – Safe travels and can’t want to see new videos with your adventures and creations.

    1. Safe travels Daniela and I know that your mum will love having you by her side, cancer treatments are tough. Glad to help with the prestamped image idea. I just wish I had thought to do some Christmas ones lol.

  11. Oh Therese, what a treat to see your sweet face live and in action, thank you for sharing this video, love seeing what you packed for this fabulous trip you and your hubby are taking, you are totally set to create along the way and I can’t wait to see it, thank you for planning to share your creations.
I was wondering why you didn’t take your little die cutting machine, I guess you need the Big Shot for your larger dies.
This video gives me a great idea on how to pack my essentials for any kind of trip, I could not survive without most of the things you are taking.
Have a wonderful time, be safe and enjoy this time with your husband, these memories will be cherished by both of you always, hope you can share pictures of your destinations along the way.
    Big hugs,

    Maria Rodriguez.

  12. Thank you so much for sharing this video with us, Therese! I’m so excited that you’ll be creating and sharing with us while on this trip…Thanks! Have fun!!!
PS – If you can share a shot of some of the places you are visiting, I would love to see that too…only if it isn’t too much trouble ~ Crafty hugs, Barb xo

  13. Well done!!! At being selective and fitting it all (mostly) in the box! I don’t think I could do it… (And why is the folding BigShot so expensive here!?… I looked at the Plus a while ago, as I wanted to be able to die cut from a whole sheet of paper without cutting it down, but ended up buying the big Gemini – have fun with yours when you get it!).
Have a great trip, I’m sure you will find lots of inspiration.

  14. Have a fantastic trip Therese! You may need another box for goodies you collect along the way?! lol, Cathy x

  15. Have a safe and wonderful trip! It looked as though you packed very well and with enough to keep you creative along the way. That would be important for me and I think for you, as well. Remember, it’s not so much the destination as the journey and I think you will have a lovely one. Blessings!

    1. My cats are looking after my mum and dad in our house and the birds are wild you can just hear them because they are in the backyard. Thanks for your lovely wishes. Thanks Therese

  16. I loved to see you pack, so neat but well stocked! Thank you so much for showing how you did it. I would love to know, what are your photography supplies that you would not miss taking?

  17. I’m impressed by how neat and compact your box is. Have fun. Did you take any stencils?

  18. How fun and what a joy to see you in front of the camera, Therese … even in all the excitement and decision making, you’re so lovely and calm!! Great ideas for your ‘distilled’ craft pack … tough choices (especially the heat gun … after all … white on black sentiments?!?). Looking forward to seeing what you create with your compact stash … and if you get the chance to share, pictures of where and how you use it! Imagining you in the outback … with maybe a roo, koala or wombat filling in for the kitties in ‘helping’! Continue enjoying every moment! Big hugs, my friend! Anita 🙂

  19. Hi Therese, hope you have a wonderful trip. My hubby and I have just purchased a 4×4 and we have a camper trailer. Hoping to get away in the next twelve months to see more of this beautiful Aus. You must keep in touch and tell us where you have been, if you want to of course. Have a great and safe trip and we’ll miss you. Cheers.

  20. hope you have a wonderful trip
don’t sit too close to a river bank a croc may come for a peek
I always love your videos you always make me smile
    enjoy your journey

  21. Therese, enjoy, enjoy…..your supplies look sufficient, wonderful packing. I hope kitty doesn’t miss you too much!

  22. I wish you and your husband a fantastic holiday ! Thank you to share a little bit of this adventure with us.

  23. Great job packing! You did so well condensing and fitting it all in! I hope you have a fantastic trip and I look forward to seeing pics! I see it’s your birthday today – what a brilliant way to celebrate! hugs x

  24. Be safe and have a wonderful trip♥

You said something, not sure if I heard you right, about that your trimmer not cut big papers to create top fold cards. BUT if you fold the paper first and after that cut it maybe that will work.

    Have fun/Gunilla

  25. WOW I think I pack more for a weekend away! You know it will be like Christmas when you come home and have all your “old” toys to play with! 🙂 Have a great trip and enjoy every minute. Will be keeping an eye on the blog for updates! I’m in Melbourne if you want a cuppa.

  26. Fab video, you are so organised, I would still be sitting in my room procrastinating over the stamps to take. I know you will make some amazing cards and have a fabulous fantastic holiday with the layland brothers hehe. I just posted a card it will be too late of course so it will be sitting waiting for many months for you, I knew you were going away but for some reason I thought you had already gone and were being very sneaky about it. Well that shows me I know nothing.. Looking forward to lots of posts about your holiday

    1. Hi Aileen, still on the lookout for the Leyland bros and Russell Coight too lol. And you are right my friend, we have already been on the road for a month, I had some posts preset so that I could have a little time to get my ‘roadshow’ internet together. But time is tight when you are on the road, with so much to see, so it’s happening just slower than I thought. Having heaps of fun though, especially now the sun has decided to come out. I will share some pics and video footage soon. Hugs, Therese

  27. Loved the video Therese, you’ve made some sound choices…. I know I would have real problems deciding too 🙂 I hope you have a wonderful trip, what an adventure!! Looking forward to hearing from you and seeing photos when you are able to share them.
    Happy trails xx

  28. So nice that hubby gave you space for it! LOL! You will do wonders with all that you are taking.

  29. I loved seeing you! And you did so well! And you have a great hubby – I don’t think mine would have given me any space at all. Have an amazing trip – what an opportunity!

  30. That was a fabulous job packing all that up. It seemed to fit in your container so perfectly. Looking forward to your posts while you are away from home.

  31. I’m way behind on my commenting but I wanted to add my well wishes for a fabulous vacation, Therese. I’m glad you can take your supplies along. Craft withdrawal is an ugly thing. 😉
