And then I got onto the Christmas Stockings…  and I couldn’t stop lol.  So there are two cards today (and even more tomorrow)!

Altenew - Christmas Stockings - Festive Poinsettia - Holiday Script Words - Therese Calvird (card) 1 copy

The sentiment for this card comes from Holiday Script Words and the new stamp set Festive Poinsettia.  Which is the focus for my final card and video.

Altenew - Festive Poinsettia - Starry Night - Therese Calvird (card video) 1 copy

Doncha just love this sentiment from the Starry Night Stamp Set!

  1. I love this release and have to have it all. The cards you have produced are very striking as usual with your use of the bright colour ways. But, what a contrast with the poinsettia. It’s so delicate and elegant. Thank you for sharing your inspirational creations with us.

  2. Therese, your work is always wonderful. And I always enjoy your videos, because they are so easy to understand and follow along with. Thank you.

  3. Love the poinsettia! I must admit, I gasped when I saw the embossing color. Lol. Looks absolutely lovely though.
I also love to listen to you. You have a very soothing voice and style. Thanks so much.

  4. I have that fluorescent green embossing powder! Maybe it’s time to break it out again. Love the video and the colors you chose. Beautiful elegant card. Thanks so much for sharing.

  5. I love the white colored poinsettias at Christmas time. Your card and coloring is perfect. The flowers look so real and life like! Thank you for sharing!
    Elaine

  6. I absolutely love the Cozy Flannel cover die! It’s my favorite product of their new release! Your card is beautiful I love the color and the look!

  7. Very pretty cards! I love the poinsettia with it’s vibrant green embossing powder! That’s what the white poinsettias look like! Thanks for the inspiration!

  8. I love all the colors that poinsettias come in nowadays. The green ones you colored are gorgeous – I haven’t quite figured out how to color “white” yet. 🙂 Love the release, Altenew!

  9. Super cute cards. I love those poinsettias, however.
So pretty. I always try to buy a red, pink & white one
each year, but it’s not easy to find all three colors.

  10. Beautiful cards! I would have to say that my favorite one is the Poinsettia card! I really love the colors you chose for them! I like how you didn’t do the traditional red color for them!

  11. Perfectly simple and poignant cards! Just love them. The poinsettia card is my favorite and love that you used green instead of the traditional red or pink! Fabulous job. Thanks for the chance to win.

  12. Beautiful cards. Love the poinsettia as a favorite, though I gasped a little when I saw the neon green embossing powder! You made it work beautifully, however!

  13. I love this background die! The pattern and texture are so fun! The stocking are adorable with all the different patterns you can stamp. Your poinsettia is lovely!

  14. You have simply outdone yourself here Therese! Wow. Fabulous cards and what an awesome release. Cannot wait for my order to arrive. I might actually get some cards done early! lol That would
be a pleasant surprise for everyone. Keep the ideas coming, we love them. Tx

  15. Hi there. Where in Australia do you live that you get green poinsettias? Never seen that before, and I have never heard of flower soft before. Is it like an embossing powder? But your cards are truly beautiful and once I stopped freaking out over the flouro green outline, I saw that it looked absolutely amazing and was my favourite card. Thanks for the inspiration.😘

    1. I live near the Gold Coast so Poinsettias grow beautifully here and I have a few in my garden. There are heaps of different colours, white, pink, salmon… maybe I might colour a salmon one next! As for Flower Soft it is a product that has been around for years and can be sprinkled on wet glue so it kind of look like flowers (hence the name) Here’s a link https://www.card-making-magic.com/flowersoft.html I only have the red and the white (which I use for snow sometimes), but maybe some yellow would be handy for flower centres…. Thanks so much for your lovely comments and for visiting, Crafty hugs, Therese

  16. I never would have thought to use fluorescent green embossing for this, but you totally made it work! I’m amazed, because I was very skeptical when you first started. But it’s incredible how realistic this looks! And the stockings are quite darling. I can see how you could get into a groove with them! Thanks for sharing with us!

  17. Just love these cards! The clean and simple poinsettia card is so creative and lovely! And, I really love the Believe and stocking card- so creative! Love this new release by Altenew- thanks for sharing so many ideas!

  18. Your card in the tutorial is gorgeous. I smiled when I saw the stocking cards. It looks like you had fun creating it. Thanks for the inspiration!

  19. Therese: Love what you have done with the stocking stamp set and especially the holiday sentiments. So charming and heartfelt! I would be so pleased if my holiday cards came out as beautifully as yours look! Thank you for the inspiration.

  20. I wasn’t sure about the flourescent Embossing Powder, but you pulled it off in the end. Gold would be really pretty too. Great look with the dimensional frame.

  21. A really fabulous collection of Christmas cards, Therese! Thanks so much for another great tutorial…your watercoloring is just beautiful!!!

  22. I like all of your cards & am so taken with the framed poinsettia. It has an elegance to it. I wouldn’t have thought to emboss it with green embossing powder but what a great choice. It is ine of my favourite items in this release.

  23. Wow!! Love how the bright green embossing powder turned out…you definitely nailed the look perfectly! Beautiful cards, very inspiring!

  24. This is another wonderful release from Altenew with great variety, but I really love those Bountiful Branches and the Blessings stamp set. Your cards are gorgeous!

  25. This release is jam packed with gorgeousness… Love the flannel cover plate and that wonderful poinsettia. I have some Flower Soft, it is such fun. Nicely done.

  26. Such a beautiful, sophisticated Christmas card- I love it! These are the most realistic pointsettia stamps I’ve ever seen!

  27. These are wonderful! I especially love the first one – the coloring on the bow is just perfect, and love those watercolored poinsettias!

    1. Hiya, I was wondering if you saw my ‘Same but Different Christmas Cards Series’ from 2017. I had many designs which weren’t snow / cold related. I am not sure which style you like so here are some links
      https://bit.ly/2p5z4St
      https://bit.ly/2Om6jff
      https://bit.ly/2OmYrdB
and the rest of the videos will be linked in my playlist at YouTube. I know you are not on your own with the snowy scene Christmas cards so it’s nice to have some other options. I decided years ago that some stamps and scenes were just too cute and in the end I caved and just go with it now lol. Thanks so much for your lovely visit, Crafty hugs, Therese

  28. Thanks for sharing your beautiful creations and video. I often forget that Poinsettias are not always red. I love that you use fluorescent green for heat embossing the outline. How brilliant!

  29. Gorgeous cards! The green Poinsettia is especially amazing but I’m more likely to make the Bow card….quick and pretty! Thanks for showing ideas for all levels of cardmakers.

  30. Beautiful cards. These blog hops are so helpful — when I first looked at the items in the release, I hardly noticed the Cozy Flannel Cover Die. After seeing your first card, I now know I NEED it!

  31. The first card is so simple, but also so very awesome! I could made a huge stack of those in no time. And that’s just what I need to do. Thanks for the great idea. All of your cards are great and hope to see more.

  32. Wanted to thank you so much for the comment you left about my ‘flower whale’ card, I really appreciate it and I’m so glad I finally got that image, as so many people haven’t seen it before and have fallen in love with it!! Your Altenew New Release cards are gorgeous as always, had to PIN that first card with the turquoise die-cutting and red bow…..its an amazing colour combo, not one I’ve thought of before but might have to borrow that idea for some of my own Xmas cards…..Mwah!!

  33. Hi Therese, WOW. Such BEAUTY!!! Love ALL of your cards, I think the first one is my favorite, It blew me away, it was so GORGEOUS!!!!! I love the colors you used, the bow looked so AWESOME against the colored checked background, really that was a BEAUTIFUL card, I HAVE to copy you on that, if I post it on IG ( if it comes out ok) I will give you credit for sure. I also loved the last one, the colors were awesome and I loved how they hung over. Thank you for an AMAZING post today !!!!!!

  34. Hi Therese! Altenew has another amazing release and your cards show them off sooooo well 🙂 I like your “Believe” and “Holiday Cheer” cards best this time around!

  35. You make the Poinsettia card look so easy to create. It’s elegant and unique (neon green embossing powder!!!) I love this card so much. Thank you for sharing it.

  36. What wonderful cards!! The first card with the flannel cover die and the big red bow is so simple yet so fabulous. That cover die is a must have for me. Your stockings are so cute and the colours are so cheery. And then there’s that poinsettia card. Wow. So gorgeous!! The colour in the flowers is amazing and makes the flowers quite stunning. The frame around them is just perfect too. Such a lovely card!!

  37. Am I the only one who takes 15 mins to find the comments section….then I ask….how dumb can I be? And there is no acceptable answer to that one….lovely fun ideas. Thanks

  38. Wonderful cards. I am new to Altenew but have become a super fan after viewing all the fabulous stamps & dies that are available. Love love love.
