Video : Refresh Your Alcohol Markers Blog Hop & Giveaway!

Altenew has an exciting new release today, it’s time to refill those Artist Markers and we are hopping along to celebrate and you should have arrived here from the gorgeous GAYATRI’s Blog!

I decided to Yupo it up for the party and love how vibrant these colours turned out.  I used the Inked Flora stamp set as I thought the outline was perfect for the watercolor’y look.

My heat embossed sentiment is from the Beautiful Lady Stamp Set and I couldn’t resist a few New Day Enamel Dots strategically (ie covering smudges) placed on the panel.

  1. Beautiful use of the alcohol inks, It’s not too much, but just perfect! I’m working on Christmas cards and see this as an idea for a lovely poinsettia card, too!

  2. Lovely card, Therese. Your video shows me so many tricks. I know I would have done your sentiment strip differently and caused me a lot of angst!!! Thanks!

  3. Love your artistic work and the balance added by the black enamel dots with the black sentiment strip!! Gorgeous!!

  4. Your card is fantastic ! I can never control my alcohol inks to use them like you did with a stamp. I will have to keep on with my training !
The Nuvo drops are also my best friends to cover all my “problems” – LOL !

  5. I loved your video! You are so much fun to listen to!!😀 I really enjoyed how you stamped an image over the alcohol ink to create a watercolor look. Clever! I have to try that. Your creations are beautiful. Thank you for sharing.

  6. Oh my gosh Therese!! I love this gorgeous card, the intensity of the colors you used is amazing, I’ve got to try the alcohol blending for backgrounds.
Thank you for sharing and the chance to win.

  10. I don’t know which is more fun – watching you create or listening to you describe your process!! love your card and really need some of those refills – so glad Altenew has them now. Beautiful card, Therese!

  11. Beautiful card Therese. I really like the idea of inserting the greeting this way…Also a great way to colour and use a large image and not be overpowered by it…Big hugs Ali xx

  12. This is so beautiful – I really like this technique. And this stamp set (actually pretty much all Altenew sets!) is perfect for it!

  16. So lovely.. I am always surprised by using alcohol on Yupo paper. They make such wonderful backgrounds for these delicious large flower stamps. Nicely done..

  17. I love your card! I really like the way you used the refills with the Yupo paper. The bright colors contrasting with the black are stunning!

  18. I really enjoyed your video showing how you made this beautiful card. I haven’t used Yopu paper with alcohol ink but you have inspired me to try. Thanks!

  19. Gorgeous card! Thank you once again for a great video and the tips. I have never used alcohol inks but you have inspired me to try.

  20. I always love seeing what you create. This is gorgeous. Reinkers are so fun, and those dots, are sometimes my best friend when I’m creating to hide my boo boos too.

  21. This is such a pretty card. I like how you did some intentional inking to make the flower mostly red and the leaves mostly green. And the bold sentiment in the middle cut out of the focal image is really cool. I’m going to have to try that. Thanks for sharing!

  22. Therese…..Your videos always make me laugh…..you just make it so much fun to watch you. Now, on to the beautiful card…I love the addition of that black cardstock with the sentiment….it really set off that floral image…I loved it…and a big thank you for always being so generous with your tutorials….I am a huge fan…..big hugs..

  23. You most defiantly chose the best image for this effect on your card, the video was greatly informative thank you & what a great idea for dots, smudge covers.

Thanks for visiting! I'd love to hear what you have to say.
