Video : Build-A-Flower: Flourishing Zinnia Blog Hop & Giveaway!

Today it’s time for the newest Build-A-Flower: Flourishing Zinnia release and we are hopping along to celebrate. You should have arrived here from ZINIA’s  wonderful Blog.

How big is this flower!  It seriously dominates a card design so that is what I thought I should do with it today.

My background is from the Celebrations Paper Set and I added a frame from the Create-A-Wreath die set.

It was easy to add a simple sentiment from the Signature Words Die set.  I have a video today showing how I layered this stamp.
You can see my video here or Watch it in HD at YouTube.

  1. Another simple yet beautiful card. The zinnia is beautiful. I also liked the way you put the acetate onto the image to see the layering process. Simple and clever.

  2. Hi Therese, I have had trouble with layering stamps in the past. Thanks so much for the coloured pencil tip. I am going to get my layering stamps out and have a play. I thought the zinnia was fantastic

  3. Oh my gosh Therese, this Zinnia is gorgeous in those colors, the simple design with that awesome background, lets your flower be the star.
    Thank you for sharing.
    XO
    Maria.
PS. Can I ask you why you don’t use the little magnets on the MISTI? Just curious. 😉

    1. Hi Maria, I haven’t used the magnets for ages as I find that consistently putting the paper back into the same corner is better and more reliable… I found that if the stamps were really ‘sticky’ the paper would sometimes shift with the magnets and I wouldn’t have realised in time before I restamped (doh!). If I really want something to stay in position I will use the magnets then but I will watch the paper like a hawk lol. Crafty hugs, Therese

  4. Altenew rocks when it comes to layering floral stamps. Thank you for the tips on layering. Sadly I am intimidated by layering stamps. Maybe I should give it a whirl again. Your card is fabulous.

  5. Thanks for the layering tips. I used to try to wing it on layering too, but gave in to use the guides on the packaging which do help. Your card is so elegant!!!

  6. I think that flower is beautiful and so realistic. I love that the directions are so easy to follow unlike some other layered flower stamps I have. You always do a great job in your cards and are so helpful Thanks for all your videos

  7. I love this flower. I too have trouble lining them up correctly. Someone should have a class on this! Your finished card is amazing! I love Altenew layering stamps and use them all the time! Sometimes I even get them lined up perfectly! Tips and tricks are always appreciated 🙂

  8. Hi Therese. I just commented on your Youtube and I think I missed saying how gorgeous your card was. Loved the colour palette you chose and that zinnia is just so beautiful. TFS. Bev from Sydney. Oh by the way, I ordered those rectangle dies we spoke about, so thanks for the tip. I appreciate you taking the time. Crafty hugs.

  9. So happy to spend a bit of my monday with you. As always, your card is beautiful and well done . Love the colors. This may be yet another one that i must have.

  10. Therese, that was a fabulous layout as it really made the zinnia stand out! Thanks for the video & tips too. This is such a realistic looking layered flower.

  11. This so perfect to fit in the circle dies!! The Zinnia is great to match up with all the seasons of the year as well as pinks!! Gorgeous card and clever idea!

  12. After growing ten large pots of zinnias this summer (from seeds) in my yard, I can appreciate how “real” your pretty stamped zinnia is!!! 🙂 I love how you showcased this stamp with your card. This new Altenew set wants to come to my house to live. 😉

  13. A simply elegant card Therese. Love the colours of the flower and it provides a perfect spot for the sentiment. Hugs Ali xx

  14. A lovely simple card… using gorgeous soft colours. Thanks for the tips with building and touching up at the end. Really helpful!

  15. For me, the layered stamps are hardest to get the outline stamp to work, so I usually skip that one. I like that Altenew has the guide and the ink sets that really make finding the right color combos easier. I hope to get more of the ink selections from them! Thanks for the great tutorial.

  16. This is just gorgeous! I wondered if that background was the new wide washi tape but then I saw it was paper. I love how the flower is such a beautiful pop of colour on the neutral background

  17. What an awesome stamp & die set. Your card is lovely, clean & simple. I think using a colored pencil is a fabulous tip. How did you know I like everything perfect??!!! To0 funny, but you’re right. Some of us are just like that.

  18. Such a simple, but elegant design, the flower turned out beautiful, but the really thin Hello die cut finished it off perfectly.

  19. What a beautiful card! I have had trouble in the past with layering sets so I really appreciate the tips. I will have to attempt it again, as this stamp and die set looks gorgeous.

  20. I love your cards. They are always elegant and beautiful with great design. This is so gorgeous. I love it all from the background paper to the hello. This zinnia is one of my favorite sets so far.

  21. Therese, I like how your card design provides a clean look that highlights the zinnia. This layering floral is so well crafted. tfs

  22. You are right, this flower is strong enough to stand on it’s own. I like how the beautiful flower takes center stage.

  23. What a cheerful and colorful card, and yet it’s sophisticated too! This Build-a-Flower Zinnia is another hit for Altenew! And you’ve showcased it beautifully! Well done!

  24. This is such a pretty flower with so much dimension. Love It! Thanks for the beautiful inspiration! Your card is exquisite!
