Video : Altenew Watercolor Brush Markers Release Blog Hop & Giveaway!

Time for a totally new and fun product from Altenew, they just keep em coming!  We are hopping along to celebrate and you should have arrived here from KELLY’s wonderful blog.

Introducing (insert drumroll here) Watercolor Brush Markers, and they are in the Altenew colours that we all know and love!

I decided to create some watercoloured flowers today, and these bright colours made for such a cheerful design.  Out came the Build-A-Flower: Anemone and a beautiful floral set called Whimsical Flowers.

Altenew - Anemone - Whimsical Flowers - Watercolor Brush Markers - Therese Calvird (card video) 1 copy

I added a sentiment from the Geometric Flowers set and popped everything on a panel of the gorgeous Yogurt Cardstock.

I decided it would be easier for you to see these brushes in action so I created a video to show you my card process.
You can see my video here or Watch it in HD at YouTube.

  1. Hmmmm… I don’t know if I’m excited or not – your card has your usual gorgeousness, but I’ve never been a big fan of the Zigs watercolor brushes. Let me go watch, before I leap! xx

  2. Love your card Therese, bright and beautiful. The colours are really vibrant which makes them so versatile. Look forward to getting mine.

  3. I am impressed with the colours in this set of Water Color Brushes and as they are named Spring Garden that there will be other sets to look forward to. Of course, as is usual Therese you have, once again, managed to come up with yet another gorgeous card. Love it!!

  4. Beautiful card! I love the colors they chose for this set of watercolor brush markers. These are colors I would need the refills for as I would use them so much. Love watching the way you created your card.

  5. Gorgeous card as usual, Therese ! And you seem very comfortable with these new pencils, as if you had used them for ages. Love the fact that they match the ink pad colours. Thanks for the great video.

  6. Beautiful card, I especially like how you coloured the anemone! I will be interesting to see how they compare to my zigs!

  7. So annoying…I write out my comment and then when I have to sign in again at WordPress my comment goes away and I have to re-enter it…even tho’ I have said to REMEMBER ME the last time I signed in!!!! GRRRRR!
Now to my comment….your card is absolutely beautiful Therese…I do thank you for showing us how you made it!!!!

  8. Beautiful bouquet, Therese. I’m so excited about these new watercolor markers! This kind of marker has been in my wish list for a long time, and now Altenew has them! YAY! Can’t wait to try them! 🌈🌸💫

  9. Sooooo beautiful! I love the colors you chose for this gorgeous card. I always think of watercolor as more pastel but these colors are vibrant and delicious!! Your shading is so elegant. Thanks for the video on how to use these brush markers. They look like they would be so fun to use!

  10. Gorgeous card Therese. Those pens look so easy to colour and blend – just what I need as colouring has always been my weak side. Thanks for sharing.

  11. This card is so pretty Therese! Love your choise of colors! Thanks for the inspiration and video, always appreciated!

  12. I love your card, the teal flower is so beautiful! I love how vibrant these watercolors are! Thanks for the inspiration!

  13. Your card is so pretty and you always make it look so easy! These markers are so vibrant and look like fun to use. Thanks for the video!!

  14. Wow…thank you for contributing to the blog. First time for me watching your videos, and I have to tell you I am SO impressed with your artistry! I just had to hit that subscribe button so I dont miss out on any of your inspiration!

  15. I loved watching you create with these markers today. Love the beautiful card you created. Looking forward to seeing more with these markers.

  16. Gorgeous, gorgeous card ! I love seeing your work, it never fails to blow my socks off & inspire me. Loving the look you have got using these watercolour markers, very pretty, great yoghurt colour not seen that before.

  17. I think I’m a bit too excited about these markers! So very tempting although I still haven’t played with the pan watercolor set. Beautiful coloring, beautiful card!

  18. I love that emerald flower. Your coloring is fantastic. Thanks for the video. I am new to watercolor markers, having just bought my first ones a couple weeks ago. My first attempt to use them was a disaster so now I’m trying to watch videos to learn how to use them. Your card looks great!

    1. Hi Annette, I am not sure which brand you bought but a BIG help to me was when I tried different cardstocks until I found one that ‘worked well’ and so far it’s the Bristol Smooth Cardstock every time. Hope this helps. Crafty hugs, Therese

  19. Love to watch you make cards, also you re-stamp the card after you color it, I have tried that but I have messed up my card sometimes, for some reason even with my Misty I still don’t always get the card in exactly the same spot. So I’ve given that up but I think it does make a difference because your lines are so bold and the card looks so good —–

    1. Hi Lyn, I have messed up when restamping too, but only a couple of times and it’s very frustrating for sure. I always just sit my cardstock in the same corner of the MISTI each time (try not to think too much about it) and stamp and 9.8 times out of 10 it’s fine. I think it does make a difference too so I tolerate those few times when it doesn’t happen to plan lol. Hope you have a great and crafty day, thanks so much for stopping by and for your lovely comments, Hugs, Therese

Thanks for your continuous inspiration Therese !

  25. Your card caught my eye right from the start. Love the color you chose for your main flower. Not a common color so it really pops. Beautiful !

  26. Therese, your card made me smile as I love anenomes. We have some soft pink ones growing right outside our door. I always appreciate them each time I walk by. Your card is so beautiful. 31. You did a great job of painting those flowers in the bouquet. The flowers are so vibrant and just pop off the page. I LOVED the emerald color you used for the biggest flower!!! I would not have thought of using that color for a flower. Now I will have to try that color myself. Thanks for sharing your talent!
