Video : Gimme 5 Penny Black – One Image 5 Ways!

Today I share 5 different card designs using the ONE stamp!  This is a video for my Gimme 5 series with Penny Black and I am actually using a Christmas stamp called Christmas Wishes but there is not one festive season card in sight (Phew, you say)!

My first card is very ‘busy’ for me, I have stamped a white Poppy Pattern on some Desert Storm cardstock to create a background.

Then I added a coordinating butterfly from the Love Art Stamp Set and a heat embossed sentiment from Love Sentiments.

Next I used my Prismacolor Pencils to colour directly onto some bright pink cardstock.

The sentiment was stamped from the Choose Happy Set.

It’s time for the monochrome, and these images were coloured with the Copic ‘W’ family and the little birds today are from the Joyful Holiday Stamp Set.

I added a sentiment from the Smitten set and an Elaborate background to some grey cardstock.

This is most clean and simple of all the designs, I created a little note card using only the basket image. I popped it up on a die cut from the Gift Card Pocket Die Set.

and added a simple sentiment from Tiny Treats.

My final design is a ‘nearly one layer card’ and I created a scene using images from the Joyful Holiday and Smitten Stamp Sets.

And today I decided to use Distress Inks to watercolour my scene.

and all together now….

I hope you were inspired to try this technique, pick a stamp you love and think how you can make a few same but different cards!  Have a great week, Hugs

  1. Wow! Great variety of cards using 1 stamp set! Your coloring is awesome and I love the monochromatic card!!

  2. Oh my goodness Therese, I literally gasped when I saw that big blob of ink on your beautifully colored image, I wanted to cry too 😢 that was excruciating to see but I’m blown away by the masterful way in which you fixed it, I would have started over.
Gorgeous cards, all 5 of them, I love the “Gimme 5” series of videos, I’m amazed at the beautiful ways you used this single lovely image.
Thank you so much for sharing.

  3. Absolutely lovely, Therese, as always! I love them all! What a great stamp, and so many different techniques in your video. Thanks for the inspiration!

  4. Love how you’ve created such different looks using the same stamp. I’m always amazed to see what you come up with. I’m one of those people who enjoys making Christmas cards all year round, but I struggle with using stamps in different ways. Maybe that’s a challenge I should set myself this year.

  5. What a beautiful collection – love this image and the way you used this precious girl is brilliant. If I had to pick out a favorite I don’t think I could.

  6. Wow, all of the cards are gorgeous. Your colouring as usual is just so lovely. My favourite is the monochromatic card, I think it’s lovely. Thank you for the video!
    Cheers

  7. She’s darling, Therese, every way you colored her! I loved seeing all your creative designs and not one for Christmas! I felt so bad when the BV marker dripped! You really saved it, I can’t tell at all!

  8. So relaxing watching you colour. It was a treat to see it done with lots of different mediums. I’m glad you left in the blob incident- it gives hope to other crafters, and it turned out so well in the end!

  9. If I could have given you 20 likes and thumbs up I would have! Love what you did with this stamp!

  10. WOW what a collection of cards and all with the same image. You really are amazing. I would never have thought to stamp and colour on pink cardstock (I barely remember to colour on kraft!). I will have to watch the video some time (have a 21st Saturday lunchtime so really should start making some slices or something!).

  11. Thank you for this 5, Therese. I would never have thought of all those ways to use that stamp and now I can look at other stamps I have and find new ways to use them.

  12. These cards are simply beautiful!! Oh, how gorgeous! I really like that stamp, but didn’t pick it up … yet! Great to see different ways it can be used. I was also thinking she’d make a great fall card. Anyway … that was such a great save on the copic card! And I too love those post boxes. Loved seeing them for real in London when I was there some years ago. Yup. I’m one of those people who could make Christmas cards all year long, but I don’t. Still they are my favorite to make. I think I practice the rest of the year so I can go wild come time to make Christmas cards!! Thanks so much for the video. One of your best!!

  13. You never cease to inspire me to look at stamps and dies in new ways!!! This set of 5 cards is out of this world!!! Thank you so much for all you put into your Gimme 5 video series. I enjoyed every minute of this video. Love, Your Biggest Fan 😉

    1. I know right? Be a terrible thing to end up in jail for painting the mailbox the ‘wrong’ colour lol. Hope you have the most fabulous Chrissy and New Year my friend x

  14. Eeek … I held my breath waiting for that boo-blob to be unboo’d, Therese … such a great save, no one would ever know! All five cards are a delight … as ever, it’s a joy to watch you creating … and coming up with such brilliant designs with just one set .. so inspiring! Hugs, Anita 🙂

  15. Oh, I love this precious girl! You’ve made such amazing designs! Thanks for all the inspiration. You’ve shown how stamps can be used in some many creative ways!!
