  5. I’m not really a “blue” person, I don’t use the color very often but these blues are just lovely.I also like the way you toned down the leaf color.

  6. Therese, your card is so beautiful! Love just the outline of the dahlias in the background & also the colours you used on the flowers & leaves. Thank you for your video that showed how you did the water colouring.

  7. Very pretty card. I like how you grouped the outline florals. I also appreciate the video showing your watercolor technique. I have ZIG markers and am not happy with what I’m producing so I think this may help.

  8. Another amazing floral stamp set from Altenew and a beautiful card from you Therese. The blue flower is so pretty and I totally agree with you about the third green on the leaves. Lovely.

  12. Wow! What a beautiful card. I thought you layered the flowers you colored but after watching video it was only 1 flower colored beautiful.

  17. The use of the uncolored flowers as a background really makes the colored flower stand out. Beautiful card.

  18. This is such a beautiful set and card. I really like how the outline in black looks with the pop of color.

  19. What a great card! Love the grey and blue combo and….thanks so much for the video. It is so helpful to watch you work. Thanks for inspiring us!

  20. Therese, I like the way you showcased the dahlia by coloring only one against the cluster of outlined images. tfs

  21. I love the blue flower against the pale gray background. Just gorgeous! The speckles add the right amount of contrast and detail.

  22. Just gorgeous Therese. Such a simple but stunning layout. Beautifully coloured and blended. My favourite way to watercolour is with a water brush. Pretty hopeless otherwise.

  23. Loving all the beauty of this card. So many helpful details that make this card so elegant. Altenew designs the most wonderful floral images.
So thankful for your generosity in sharing.
    Cheers
    Lisa

  24. Loved it as usual….I chuckled when I heard you use the US pronunciation of dahlia…..had just given Laura some cheek and said the Aussie pronunciation usually stresses the day first syllable…..then the Aussie on board makes a lia out of me… love it.
I tried the big Altenew flower and used all the blue greens of the watercolour brushes and was more impatient than you and lived to regret it!….day 29 of daily marker. So too late to worry

    1. My pronunciation may be because I am originally from Victoria?? But generally I find that even though Australia is such a large country the accent is fairly similar all round, often it’s just a few words that sound different or have a different meaning. When I lived in the UK in Bristol you could tell which side of town people came from by their accent! Hope you have a fabulous day, Hugs Therese

  25. Thanks for the great video showing us how to watercolor the beautiful flower and leaves! You make it look so simple. Love your card design with the outlines and just one flower with color. Thanks for sharing!

  26. Beautiful! I love the idea of pairing the circled sentiments with this set. I also love the color combination of the blue with the neutral background. Helps the Dahlia to really stand out. Thank you!

  27. Another absolutely beautiful card Terase. I just love your creations you make and look forward to next

  31. Your coloured flower is so pretty and delicate Therese. The plain stamped flowers and splatters makes the perfect background to showcase the leading lady! Thanks so much for your wonderful inspiration!

  32. Love the ease of the waterbrush markers on this beautiful dahlia image. My mum used to have dahlias in her garden, brings back fond memories. Love the use of silhouette flowers in the background. TFS.

  33. So elegant Therese! I am in love with the Altenew water colour brush markers at the moment, they are so easy to use. Thank you for sharing.

  34. I’m a subscriber to your u-tube channel, i just finished watching your shading technique. I love the shading of flower and the splatter adds a special touch.

  35. Spotlighting a single bloom on the gray background is so stunning with the black outline prints behind it!

  36. I love how you used the clean, uncolored stamps for a background and then the vibrant blue flower was popped up. Man! Spot on beautiful!

  37. Beautiful card. I love the ‘spotlight ‘ technique so your lovely watercolored dahlia pops. It is always fun to watch your videos and hear your comments.

  38. Wow Therese!! Spectacular card!! At first glance your Dahlia appeared to be layered. The dimension you created with the addition of the Jet Black is amazing. The Moss over the leaves created beautiful coloring. Love it!!

  39. Your design and ingenuity are amazing. Hey I didn’t copy and paste my reply here. You are truly an inspiration, Therese. You make the process look so seamless that even a beginner (me) can attempt this. Thanks again for sharing your talent and originality.

  40. Gosh, Therese, I love your beautiful card! I’ve not used the watercolor brushes, but your video is SO informative. I think I could learn how to use them. Thanks!

  43. Just like your card says – SO beautiful! Love watching your videos – very inspiring & just plain fun! I am also just crazy about the Altenew build-a-flower stamp sets!

  44. OMG, Therese, I had to watch your video because by looking at your card I could have sworn the petal layers of the painted Dahlia were layered with foam tape. Your coloring, and then the shading is so spot-on perfect, you fooled my eyes. Awesome job!

  45. An awesome project and I love the dahlia color! So pretty. I need to try to colour more flowers blue. It is so pretty when you do it. 🙂 hopefully mine will turn out good too. I need to try it on the Bristol. After my last fail, I am afraid to watercolour again! Looking forward to seeing your video, you always are so funny when you craft! Love it!

  46. Such a beautiful card. I love the contrast of the uncolored flowers with the blue flower! Just beautifull!

  47. Gorgeous card! I love how it looks in blue and you gave it so much dimension! Thanks for the inspiration!

  48. I was intrigued by the mix of black outline background with the single colored die cut of the bloom/leaves. I think I need to try that when my stamp set arrives. I especially liked the choice of a blue flower.

  49. Therese, I love your design with the outline stamped background and then the soft blue flower layered on top! This is so pretty. A gorgeous new stamp set!

  50. This is a beautiful card and I love how you just colored in one of the dahlia’s. I love the contrast.

  53. I love Altenew’s Watercolor Brushes. I find I use them more than anything else. They are fabulous. The colors are gorgeous. I love how you used them with this BAF. Your card is gorgeous!!

  54. The particular colored paper that you used combined with the black splatters provides the perfect background to the raised flower which is beautifully colored!!! Inspiring!

  55. The pop of color with the black and white outlines is a very dramatic and beautiful look, Therese. Just gorgeous!

  56. Gorgeous card – I love the combination of the bright blue on the light brown, and the simple black stamped outlines make such a nice contrast to the bright dimensional bloom – love it!

  57. Simply beautiful card. Love the colors – these watercolor markers are on my wish list. You make it so easy to use.

  58. Hello Theresa! Love your work. Especially the the non-colored prints below the colored one – It’s a fabulous presentation. It almost looks like it is on canvas – and it appears an ivory color – was this the pale gray card stock? It really looks different. Thanks for the inspiration! Denise

    1. hi Denise, Yes it is the pale gray cardstock. My apologies but was an overcast day and I think that may have affected the tone on the photo, it seems to bring out the warmness of the Altenew Pale Gray. Thanks so much for your lovely comments, Crafty hugs, Therese

  59. Your card is beautiful and I always enjoy your videos! I also love the “print” look in the background with the wonderful teal blue colors! Thank you for the inspiration!

  60. Hi Therese 🙂 Lovely, lovely card!!! Soooooo much depth that I could’ve reached right out and plucked it! A wee disappointed that you awarded early, but a lovely card nonetheless! Thanks for the inspiration 🙂

    1. Hi Connie, So glad to hear that you like my card! I would not like you to think that I did award early and you missed out, but I have it noted on the post that I use AEST which is Australian Eastern Standard time and I was actually a day late this time lol. But, maybe next time. Thanks so much for visiting and for your lovely comments today. Crafty hugs, Therese
