Altenew March 2019 Stamp/Die/Stencil Release Blog Hop & Giveaway + Video!

Today I share a video showing how I created 2 Faux Wallpaper Cards, using the beautiful new Wallpaper Art Stamp Set.  But before I get to that did you know that this is part of a Hop celebrating the new release from Altenew and if you are hopping along you should have arrived here from TAEEUN’s amazing Blog!

Firstly though, did you see that I am heading to Melbourne on Saturday 6th April for an Altenew Workshop, you can find the deets HERE.  I can’t wait!

Let’s start with some release inspiration and an Artist Marker coloured flower from the same Wallpaper Art stamp set.

Altenew - Wallpaper Art - Versatile Vases - Therese Calvird (card) 1 copy

I decided to set this ‘oversized’ flower in a Versatile Vase…  very interior designer of me I thought.

Next it’s time for a watercolour take on the Bold Bunch Stamp Set and I used the Watercolor 36 Pan Palette to add my colour today.

As well as some Mask Stencil leaves in the background

Now for the big finale, and my hubby even made a comment about these being ‘nice cards’, I just thought he was going too far then lol.  But he doesn’t comment often so I took it.

I used the big flowers and leaves from the Wallpaper Art Stamp Set.

and here I have a die cut sentiment from the Signature Words Die set,

Altenew - Wallpaper Art - Therese Calvird (card video) 1 copy

and this card has a sentiment from the Bottleful Of Stamp Set.

  1. Love your cards Therese. The first one is my favourite. Love the coloured flower against the simplicity of the vase image in black and white. Quite beautiful.

  2. Therese, you dazzled me with your faux wallpaper, and all those perfect touches of gold, my friend! But! I’ve fallen head-over-heels with that gorgeous vase, and beautiful bloom! [all fabulous!]
    =]

  3. Gorgeous cards, Therese! I’m loving what you’ve shared for this release…looks amazing!
Have fun with Tasnim at the Workshop…sure wish I could be there!

  4. Gorgeous cards. The one with the vase is beautiful but the black/white ones are stunning – the gold foil really takes them up a level. Thanks for sharing.

  5. That foil is a great touch, Therese – those cards are so elegant! All of your cards are fabulous, but I just LOVE the first one. I’ve got to get those vases!!

  6. Your husband obviously has very good taste Therese – these faux wallpaper cards are gorgeous! And thanks for admitting going through your bin – I do that too!

  7. WOW! The black, white, and gold thanks cards is a stunner. That is my favorite stamp of the new release. Beautiful and creative.

  8. They’re all beautiful!! The gold foil really adds to the overall design. Gotta love a little sparkle and shine!

  9. Beautiful cards Therese. I particularly like your flower and vase card, very elegant. Loved how you saved part of a cut flower for your wallpaper background. 😊

  10. Oh Therese, these Wallpaper Art cards are absolutely stunning! ✨ You need to leave your day job, girl! 💛No one wonder your hubby commented (he sounds like my hubby! Lol) – these cards are artist quality! Altenew has another new brilliant release…and choosing you to showcase it, shows just how bright they are! 🤗💫✨

  11. Enjoy your time in Melbourne! I love your designs with the Wallpaper Art flowers, especially the one in the vase. Finally, a set of vases to put all my Altenew florals into!

  12. I love the new Altenew release. I placed my order this morning and can’t wait to get it. Thank you for the beautiful inspiration!!!

    1. This laminater cost $20 and I can justify that… Now, I’m just trying to justify one of the new hot foil machines lol. BUT, you don’t need any machine at all to laminate, you can just use glue / Scor Tape (Be Creative tape) or similar and just adhere the foil to that, just have a practice until you achieve the look you are after. Thanks so much for your lovely comments!

  13. Love, love, love the cards Therese. Such a clever idea with the foil and it looked fabulous. I also loved the pink flower in the vase and would have liked to see how you did that one too. Stunning cards.

  14. Love the monochrome cards, the little dash of foil makes all the difference. You have outdone yourself this time and that is not an easy feat.

  15. Your cards all look amazing! I particularly love the last one. The new release looks amazing and I love the new ink release.
So excited about the Melbourne altenew class. Busily trying to organize a trip down! May the card making gods favor me💖

  16. I love your use of the gold foil to accent the large flowers and leave clusters. Agree with your husband, that card was fabulous!

  17. Wow, LOVE your cards especially the Wallpaper Art one with the dark background! thanks for another awesome video tutorial.

  18. I love your cards – each one is a different technique. The two Wallpaper Art cards are great examples of the different looks you can get from one set!

  19. Wow, Therese, the black and white cards are stunning. I just love the look. Thanks so much for sharing them with us.

  20. Therese your cards are outstanding! This release from Altenew is amazing, I especially love the new ink colours. Enjoy any comments from your husband, they are normally few and far between! lol
Thank you for sharing your amazing talents.
    T X

  21. WOW, Your cards are absolutely beautiful and unique. Thanks a lot for sharing your talents with us.

  22. Love hopping here. You never disappoint! The cards are lovely and stunning. The Wall Paper Stamp is a must have. You made it gorgeous in both cards and the black and gold is amazing!!
Thanks for inspiring – as always, Denise

  23. OMG, I don’t have enough amazing words to explain my happiness after seeing these cards. They are absolutely phenomenal. The Faux Wallpaper one totally blew my mind. Thanks for the ideas, Therese.

  24. Love all of your cards! But that Wallpaper Art stamp set is gorgeous! Thank you so much for the video and inspiration 🙂

  25. I am amazed – Altenew keeps releasing so many flowers, and I never get tired of them! That’s the special thing about flowers – and Altenew! Your cards are all wonderful, and show your versatility, Therese! Gotta say, those foil accented flowers are so elegant!

  26. Love the vase and gilding….just got some foils and adhesive today…..but saw Melbourne….yeah!
And I think I can even manage that location ….I recall disabled parking etc…
    Goodie gumdrops.
We used to have a quilting group there….when it was free….many long years ago when I was a quilter before being a try hard cardmaker.

  27. Love the black, white and gold foiling! I love the wallpaper stamp set! I have a thing for old wallpaper and old Rose designs. I also took a picture of your first card to give me inspiration on coloring flowers with my Artitst Markers.

I got a laminator for Christmas so will be investing in the Deco foil pen. I like the look of bits of foil on an image (like you showed), not a Covering the whole image.

Think it is so neat you are having an Altenew workshop in Melbourne with Tasneem. Coming from the state of Virginia in the US would be a bit of a trek! Will look forward to seeing pictures that you share. .

  28. Oh Therese, you never disappoint. Love love love all the cards, and the black white and gold with the wallpaper art stamp set, WOW!!!!

  29. These are beautiful cards with my favourite stamp set from this release – wallpaper art. Thanks for the inspiration!

  30. The vase set is already on my list, however, thanks to you the Wallpaper Art set has made it’s way to my list. So gorgeous!

  31. Love all of your cards but the wallpaper art cards are fabulous! I think I have that foil pen somewhere, if not, flitter glue and deco foil might be a good combo. Thanks for more great inspiration with the March release from Altenew.

  32. Therese, you’ve used my favourite stamp set from this impressive release which is the Wallflower Art Set, along with the Stencil Masks. I love the colours on the flower & it looks like it belongs in that large vase. I have to say the two cards you made a video of are truly elegance defined. Gorgeous!

  33. The wall art stamp set is amazing and your cards are stunning. I love the touch of gold foiling you added to the flowers and the leaves. Your creations always inspire me. Thanks for sharing your time and talent with us

  34. You always create beautiful cards and the cards you shared today are no exception. The black, white, and gold cards are particularly stunning. Thanks for the great video showing how you created them!

  35. Stunning! Love the oversized flower and the black/white/gold.

I booked (Aussie dollar really isn’t doing us in favours)! Very out of character I never book anything like this (I don’t even do the workshops at the papercraft conventions!). Got two guys lined up to take my place as team manager for the girls netball that day.

  36. Therese, I love all of your cards, but my favorite here is the Wallpaper Flower in the vase. I love that you colored the flower and set in against the black and white vase and background! Very classy looking!

  37. Beautiful cards! I am especially loving the last two in the black and white with the gold accents, I can’t decide which one is my favorite!

  38. The colour and the designs of the coloured cards are very beautiful but the wallpaper flowers with the black and gold foil are genius! I have used gel gloss medium and acrylic paint to foil without problems in the past.

  39. Your cards are absolutely stunning, Therese!! The wallpaper art stamp set is my favorite of the whole release and your foiled card using it is my favorite of this hop so far. Classy and elegant!!

  40. Therese, you always make me chuckle….kinda dry, well almost kinda dry…..so funny….and your laugh is just great….I so love watching your videos. Thank you for that. Those cards were just gorgeous!!! I was excited when I saw the Wallpaper Art stamp set…and I ordered it right away. The stencil and the dies will have to come later.(that thing called a Budget). Super fun blog hop!
And I hope you and Tasneem have a wonderful trip to Melbourne. Whoever meets you two there is so lucky. You are both such talented crafters….and so much fun…..enjoy!!! Thank you again for all of your lovely cards and video…big hugs!

  41. My favorite is the Wallpaper Art set, but I also love the Vases! Great release, and beautiful creations. I think the bundles with stamps, dies and stencils are fabulous!!! Love the dimension of flower in vase!

  42. Beautiful cards! I love how you used the foil with these stamps. I just got some foil, so the timing is perfect. Thanks for the inspiration!

  43. These are all so beautiful!! I love the Wallpaper Art set and the different ways you have used it here; so gorgeous!

  44. Wow! The last cards are AWESOME!! They are my kind of style..very impressive! The stamp is so pretty..definitely on my shopping list. The gold add a very special touch. I’m curious how you did that. Thanks for sharing!

    1. Hi Rochelle, It was easy to add the gold highlights to the flowers. I used a Decofoil glue pen and some Gold decofoil with my laminator and you can actually see the whole process in the video linked at the blog. Thanks for your lovely visit, Crafty hugs,Therese

  45. Love your cards, but my favorite is the first! I love how the flower POPS against the black and white vase and leaves.

  46. As always your cards are incredible but I especially love the black/white and gold cards, such a unique design that is so eye-catching and beautiful.

  47. Therese, your designs and techniques are WOW! Thank you so much for the inspiration with these lovely Altenew stamps.

  48. I looooove your video today as i am a foil junkie
If you don’t have the glue pen just use versamark with melted fine embossing powder and pass it through the laminator

  49. These are all beautiful, Therese … though it’s those wallpaper ones that had me gasping … you probably heard it from over there! Elegant, stylish, chic … love the gold accents … what stunning cards! This set went in my wish book as soon as I saw it … seeing these has elevated it to top spot! Hugs, Anita 🙂

  50. Beautiful cards. I especially love the Wallpaper Art in black and white. That set is one of my favorites from this wonderful release.

  51. Well aren’t these cards the coolest!! I wasn’t aware that a deco foil pen existed or that it’s pretty much the same as liquid glue. I think both of your cards are beautiful. Wasn’t sure when you started out how the foil would look, especially on the leaves. But it’s really nice!! Looks like I will be shopping for a laminator. Thanks for teaching me yet another cool techinique!!

  52. Pretty, pretty wallpaper cards…in both the black and the white! The pop of gold really sets it off.
I also am intrigued with the vase stamp set….love that card too!

  53. Your faux wallpaper cards are stunning! The touches of foil make both cards so elegant. Thanks for showing how you created these.

  54. I most definitely agree with your husband – your Wallpaper Art cards are ‘nice cards’ LOL but I think I would have used one or two bigger words…..GORGEOUS, FABULOUS, STUNNING, ELEGANT, something like that hehe. Thank you for sharing all your cards and for the wonderful inspiration with this release. (mardy14@bellsouth.net)

    1. Maybe I’ll try that next time, originally I was thinking of a bigger sentiment too, but I just couldn’t bring myself to cover up the panels lol. Thanks so much for your lovely visit, Crafty hugs, Therese

  55. Those vases have a stencil, I noticed. I was wondering how they would look if you emboss them with the stencil for dimension? Might be a take 2 idea

    1. Keep an eye out as there is a Take 2 on the way using the Vases and the stencils….. not that I would give anything away mind lol. And I believe your idea is such a good one that you may just see it in action (wink).

  56. I agree with your husband! These are really cool cards! I love all of them! The first one did look like it belonged in a magazine and the last two are SO elegant! I always enjoy your videos! You are so talented! Thank you so much for all of the inspiration!!

  57. What a variety of cards – very inspiring! I especially like the look of the first card with the only image in color is the flower…unique approach and, as a result, the power really pops. You’re very talented!

  58. Your cards are always so beautiful, Therese….but these are outstanding! I am not a fan of foiling, but the bits you used on the last two cards are just amazing! I am so totally in love with every one of the stamps and dies in this newest release, but Wallflower Art is my absolute fave. Thanks for more of your inspiring work and ideas!

  59. How exciting for you to be a headliner with Tasnim! I hope you have a fantastic time. I love all your cards, but the foil one on a black background is my favorite. It looks like a fancy dress that I desperately want. I think these are very nice cards, indeed!

  60. Four vivid and beautifully colored cards!! Love the black and gold one especially (3rd one)!!! Gorgeous work! I always learn from you!!

  61. These cards are so beautiful! I love this new Wallpaper Art stamp set. I have foil from years ago, I think I need to pull it out and give this a try.

  62. Beautiful, beautiful cards! And the last one with the black and white and foil is just plain amazing! Great idea! And thank for the video! It was great to watch you adding your wisps of glue for the foiling. Your artwork is the best!

  63. Such gorgeous cards, Therese! Love them all but the ‘wallflower’ card is my favorite. I haven’t done any foiling, as I don’t have a foiling machine (yet)….but hope I can try it out soon!

Thanks for visiting! I'd love to hear what you have to say.
