Easy Prismacolors in Real Time – Colour With ‘U’ Video!

I couldn’t bring myself to throw out these flower scraps…   I think I even had them hovered over the bin for a minute, and I couldn’t, so instead I used these ‘left over’ flowers from this post HERE at Ellen Hutson and I decided to make a card.

And why not do some simple Prismacolor Pencil colouring and I share the process in ‘real time’ linked in the video below.  It was this cute little bird from Catherine Pooler Designs Fluttering Friends Stamp Set that won the spot with these flowers.

I added a Sweet Die cut sentiment and stamped the word ‘friend’ in the new Altenew Obsidian pigment ink…   I know, another black ink to add to the collection but this one is seriously awesome and I’ve only used it a few times.

I am back from holidays and have ‘a little’ catch up to do but I do have some new videos to share with you real soon.  In the mean time I hope you are inspired to colour today!  Hugs,

  1. Some how after reading the first line in reader I knew your scraps would be fabulous and not anything like my scraps!😉 awesome card. Hope you had a fab holiday

  2. Oh Therese, I’m so glad you didn’t throw away this scrap of paper, those flowers are gorgeous and the perfect background for your little bird, which you colored beautifully, the slight bleeding of the ink was covered perfectly.
I love coloring with my Prismacolor pencils and paper stumps, the shading and blending are always beautiful.
I was wondering how you keep the ends of your paper stumps so sharp and even, do you use a pencil sharpener or a sanding block? I use very fine sandpaper I grabbed from the garage but I can never get an even, sharp edge on my paper stump.
Thank you for sharing this video and tips, as always your videos are a joy to watch.
    Sending hugs.

    Maria Rodriguez.

    1. Hi Maria, I use a sanding board, like this one here from Crafter’s Companion https://bit.ly/2VKq5nD they are cheap and easy to use, but I find that with so many stumps and a colour family for each I don’t have to do this very often. Thanks so much for your lovely visit my firend, Hope you have a great and crafty day, Therese

  3. Of course you couldn’t throw out those lovely floral scraps Therese. They are perfect on the side for your sweet bluebird – and in such gorgeous colours. Love how ‘she’ is perfectly placed on top of the sentiment. Nice finish with the blue buds.

  4. With all the beautiful coloring you did on those flowers I’m so glad you used them to give a home to that darling bird, Therese.

  5. Such a gorgeous sweet card! Love everything about it!!! And that you used up some scraps too, I have a pile on my desk, but mine may be going in the bin LOL !

  6. That little bird is so charming with your ‘scraps’ (that are unlike any scraps I have!), Therese … so enjoyed watching the real time colouring … vicariously crafting is good sometimes!! Great to be back … and to see you back too … hope the camping was fabulous! Hugs, Anita 🙂

  7. I’m so glad you saved this scrap of blooms…they’re perfect with this darling bird (on my wishlist since it’s not in stock). This is such a pretty card! Thank you as always, for your wonderful video tutorial! I’m looking forward to seeing your watercolor version as well! Hugs, Barb xx

  8. Oh wow, love that little birdie and that gorgeous floral background. Such a pretty card.

  9. Your scraps are fabulous. I liked the white embossed flowers the best so it is great to see them again. I love the way the bird sits on the sentiment.
