Altenew June 2019 Stamp/Die/Stencil Release Blog Hop & Giveaway + Video!

Today I share a video shaking up some colours with stamp layering, but first did you know that this is part of a Hop celebrating the new release from Altenew and if you are hopping along you should have arrived here from KATHLEEN’s fabulous Blog!

I have started with a very clean a simple card using the Peaceful Reverie Stamp Set, this is quite a unique set that uses a ‘dot’ to add layers but I changed it up by just using the beautiful solid images.

Altenew - Peaceful Reverie - Fancy Greetings - Therese Calvird (card) 1 copy

I used the coordinating Mask Stencil to do some simple masking and added a sentiment from the Fancy Greetings Stamp Set with the incredible new Obsidian Black ink…….WoW!

I have a video sharing how my next card came together, I used the Sunflower Daisy Stamp Set and mixed up some ink colours to create a unique look.  I added some papers from the Blushing Blooms Paper Pack.

And a sentiment embossed on Navy Cardstock from the Delicate Flower Bed Stamp Set (this set has the funnest sentiments!).

  1. You make the layering stamps look so easy. I struggle with that process so I stay away from them. I do think the look is fabulous and Altenew rocks with the floral layering stamps

  2. I always learn so much when I watch your video’s, be it about the actual set you are using or a top on how to, like the ink swatches for comparisons. Thank you x Am really enjoying the mix of colours used on these flowers x

  3. Therese, both cards have something to love… the first? those gorgeous colour choices! the second? ditto, and OH they are so lifelike! Can’t wait to watch…
    =]

  4. LOVE both the cards!! One is so elegant with the CAS design and colors and the second one is so bright and happy. Thank you so much for sharing. 🙂

  5. I hadn’t had time in so long to watch your videos (those darn husbands….lol), but found a spare few minutes this morning. Very happy to have seen this one. Those layering stamps are gorgeous, and I do love all those bright colors against those amazing papers! Btw…I like the gray centers. They show up nicely and allow the petals’ colors to shine. Beautiful card! As is your first one…Those colors together look amazing! That’s a card that will surely put a smile on someone’s face. Love that you chose not to use the dots on this and went with those rich blues and that soft tan. Love these!! : )

  6. Peaceful Reverie makes me dream of buying every single item from this release – I love your aqua card Therese!

  7. Love both cards Therese! i especially love the second one, the sunflower daisy stamp set. Thanks for the inspiration!

  16. Love the release and so love what you’ve created.
Both cards are beautiful but your first card just speaks to me.
The solid images, the colours and the layered design it just comes together for me.
Even though I’m at work, I sneaked in the video because I’m not home until 7.30pm.
Both love and loathe 12 hour shifts.
    Cheers
    Lisa

I love how you used just the solid images for the flowers on your first card….so pretty!

  21. You always make me laugh when I watch your videos so I get my happy fix and get to watch you make your gorgeous cards. Love the way you try new things and these new sets are amazing.

  22. Beautiful cards, as always. Thank you for sharing the video. You always do a great job on your videos, and they are always a great help

  23. Love this card and the way you mixed up the colors on the flowers. Really gorgeous they way they worked out. I like the gray centers and it suddenly adds a touch of whimsy and make-believe to them. Excellent, of course.

  24. I thought the peaceful reverie stamp set was a bit limiting until I saw your card. So inspirational. I have also switched out my inks, thanks for that tip

  25. Both of your cards are so pretty. I love the daisy– looks so real. Also love the Peaceful Reverie card. I like the look of the solid layer you used, I am a big fan of stippling, so would definitely use that layer for a card I would create.

  26. As always, great cards and video. Great idea on making multiplies stamp/die items. I think it’ll make me more productive and creative. Thanks!

  29. Your cards are simply gorgeous, Therese! I love the first one so much because blue is my favorite color. But, the daisy card is also so pretty using the color combo you chose and the patterned paper just sets them off perfectly! thanks for another great video!

  30. I rarely go outside the predetermined color families (because I’m lazy), but I have got to try this. That daisy is quite stunning. And I’m surprised at how well the Peaceful Reverie flowers read even without the dots. The things I learn on a bloghop! Thanks for sharing your creativity with us.

  31. I love your cards, that sunflower card is awesome!! I love the background, it’s so cool!! The colors are bright and sunny!! Makes me happy!!

  32. The look you get with layered stamps always amazes me….. it’s As magical as watching embossing powder melt! It just makes me happy 😊

  33. Wow! I know the first card is “clean & simple” but I keep going back to look at it; it is stunning.
The bright flowers look awesome against the dark background, especially with the honeycomb pattern.
    Thank you.

  34. Oh, Therese, you never fail to amaze! Love the plain and simple card but it is the color scheme in your sunflowers that really grabbed my eyes! Great process video and I know I will be using your ideas to create some cards when my stamp sets arrive! Thanks for sharing with us!

  35. As always, you hit it out of the park! I love your videos and your style! And Altenew is def a fav of mine. Please do something with the Reverie stamp – I ordered it and know you would do something amazing!

  38. I really like both of your cards…but I have to say that the sunflower and daisy is my favorite…such an amazing use of color…fabulous! Thanks for sharing.

  39. Oh my, your color selections are spot on. I especially love that first one. I wouldn’t mind a shirt with that design and colors. Haha. Beautifully done my friend.

  40. I don’t ordinarily like the look of solid flowers, but yours works well. I think it’s the color combination. Thanks for using the layering set a bit differently. I really like the Sunflower Daisy set. I think your experimentation with colors worked great. Thanks for the video:)

  41. Great video! I love this sunflower daisy and your coloration is so beautiful. I would love flowers to grow in those exact colors. TFS.

  43. Lovely cards. This is not the first time you have shown how to use the matching stencils to create pretty flowers & I’m trying to use your ideas to make my own cards. It’s always so enjoyable to watch your videos, too. Thank you!

  44. Gorgeous card, Therese. I love the “mixed” colors. The Sunflower Daisy set is so beautiful — think it may be my favorite from this wonderful release.
