Ellen Hutson & Power Poppy Blog Hop & Giveaway!

Now if you know me you know that I adore flowers and these new stamps are irresistible!  So… I had to make 2 cards to share with you today celebrating the Ellen Hutson & Power Poppy Hop and if you are joining the fun you should have arrived here from LESLIE’s Amazing Blog!

I started by creating my own background by repeatedly stamping a flower from the Strong and Beautiful Stamp Set.  I used my Copics to add ‘pink’, yes I know….  not my ‘go to’.

Lostinpaper - Power Poppy - Strong and Beautiful (card) 1

The sentiment is from the same set which I coloured to match and added a couple of sparkling clear sequins to finish.

My second card uses a floral frame stamp from the Floribunda Stamp Set.  I kept it as line art and cut out a rectangle frame and then I decided to inset the remaining portion.

I added a Prismacolor Pencil coloured Hummingbird and a heat embossed sentiment from the Summer Berries Stamp Set.

  1. Your cards are really beautiful Therese. Love them both equally. Hope you’re having a good day. Given that you’re always so giggly, I’m sure you are!

  2. Beautiful cards. I love that hummingbird, and the background you created for the first card is gorgeous — the pink flowers are wonderful.

  3. Absolutely BEAUTIFUL, Therese! You’ve gotten more creative as you’ve created your blog and shared your stamping prowess with us all. Thank you so much for that, as you are an inspiration in the different techniques you share!

  4. Two beautiful cards. Lovely coloring on the first card, and I love the sentiment style on stamps from the Strong & Beautiful set. The layered frame you created on the 2nd card is awesome!

  5. The wonderful background with the floating flowers is so whimsical and I am in love. I did but this stamp set this morning and can’t wait to try this. The flower border is amazing and shows how you can use it to make any image “pop” as you did with the hummingbird.

  6. Your coloring of the flowers is incredible. At some point in my life, I would love to be able to color like that!

  7. Your talent is inspiring and your cards are beautiful. The Poppy card is so pretty in pink and I absolutely love the Floribunda Border Frame card with the Hummingbird.

  8. Two lovely cards Therese, I love the background you created and that hummingbird is gorgeous! hugs XoX

  9. Gorgeous cards! Love the beautiful coloring on the pretty pink blossoms, and the hummingbird is just stunning!

  10. I can see why you made two cards! Both are gorgeous! I love your pink blossoms, and the hummingbird looks amazing framed by those beautiful flowers!

  11. Beautiful cards – I love how you lowered the cut-out section rather than raised it – a beautiful effect! The hummingbird is perfect on that, too!

  12. I always love your cards. My favorite is the colorful hummingbird with the black and white background. Thanks for sharing your special talents with us.

  13. Beautiful cards Therese. Love the pink flowers! The bird is gorgeous too. Wonderful new stamps from Power Poppy. Thank you for sharing.

  14. Theres, you’ve shared to ever so lovely cards. The color coordination of the stamped image and sentiment on the first card creates such a sense of peace. The beautifully colored hummingbird against the basic black/white of the second card focuses so well on this sweet little bird. tfs

  15. Absolutely gorgeous. Two stunning cards.
Love the pink magnolias (?) and the humming bird stands out against the black/white background.
I’ve been following Power poppy for a while now (love their floral images) not sure why I don’t have any especially when so many are also available digitally!

  16. A gorgeous pair of cards Therese, love them both. The first one with those falling blooms is so beautiful in pink and I love how you spotlighted the little Hummingbird, it really pops off the page.
    XO

  17. Breathtaking… Love that you did the inset. Love the contrast of the frame and those beautiful colors on the hummingbird. Nicely done!

  18. Love the cards, especially your decision to inlay the cutout; it really makes the beautiful hummingbird pop off the page. Thanks for inspiring.

  19. I have recently “discovered” Power Poppy…I’m truly in love with all beautiful talent that is shared. I wish I could illustrate as Marcella but the next best thing – I can color!

I love your blog and You Tube videos – I’m truly a “stalker” of your work. Love you sense of humor when you do your videos, you are so inspirational – I thank YOU!

  20. Awesome cards Therese, I also love flower stamps a lot and Power Poppy makes such great ones.
I love the soft colours you used for your first card and the way you made the second is stunning! What a great idea, I love it! Thank you so much for your awesome inspiration.

  21. Lovely stamps, lovely cards and all so well done. Having just the hummingbird colored with the black and white background — just right,

  22. Those delicate blooms lend themselves to the soft pink, Therese, they’re lovely … and what a gorgeous hummer, so beautifully framed in the simple black and white! Hugs, Anita 🙂

  23. Beautiful cards! Great design using these new stamps! Th colored hummingbird is great against the black and white.

  24. These are amazingly stunning!!! I love the background you created and that beautiful little hummingbird.

Thanks for visiting! I'd love to hear what you have to say.
