Ellen Hutson Christmas In July Giveaway Hop + Video!

Today I share a quick and fun way to create 2 Christmas cards!  We are celebrating Christmas in July with Ellen Hutson and hopping along!

I have a very simple way to create 2 bright cheery Christmas cards with you in my video today.  I used the Abstract Paint Strokes Stamp Set to create a bright striped background.

Lostinpaper - Ellen Hutson - Abstract Paint Strokes (card video) 1 copy

I added a simple sentiment from the Mondo Holly Stamp Set and some Red Droplets as my ‘baubles’.

This card uses the same patterned panel but this time I added a sentiment from the Snow Days Stamp Set and some Snowball Droplets…  Love!!

And on both of my cards I used the bow from the Parcel Box Die Set.

  1. Great color combo on your modern cards and I like how you added ornaments to the tress with the droplets!

  2. Therese, I always enjoy your videos & this is a wonderful way to get a two for one card. Super non-traditional colours too. Thanks for the inspiration to get making a couple of Christmas cards in the summer.

  3. OMG I love it….2 cards in the time it took to make one and no waste and such pretty colors thanks for sharing

  4. So very inspiring – the Christmas trees are sensational! The colors are dreamy and this is one of my favorite techniques in card designing – LOVE yours!

  5. As always you are sooo creative and talented with great inspiration. Absolutely love the cards and you nailed both of them.

  9. Thanks! I need to get started with making Christmas cards and these are great and beautiful inspiration!

  10. Love the Abstract Paint Strokes stamp–and you chose such bright, happy, non-traditional colors! Its alwaus a bonus when you can knock out 2 cards for the price of one piece of cardstock!

  11. I love the simplicity of these cards. I find I start out with a more detailed card and after making a few I start thinking don’t work harder work smarter. This is cute, cheerful, bright, and handmade…thanks for great idea.

  12. Great cards, That colour combo looks great! And I love that you used the negative space, I must remember that! hugs XoX

  13. Wow! Love this idea of a “two-fer”lol. The colour combos are endless. TFS Hoping your day is marvellous. Cheers Donna

  14. I love all of your cards Therese! These remind me of my mother-in-law’s aluminum Christmas tree in the 60’s with lights in those colors that made the tree change color – so retro. I’m always happy to see your name on a hop. Thanks for sharing.

  15. These are wonderful, Therese! I love how you produced two cards from those great stripes. The sweet bows and droplets look amazing on both of your cards! Great tip about the glue dot – no one likes a “dodgy” jewel picker! lol!

Thanks for visiting! I'd love to hear what you have to say.
