Altenew November 2019 Gradient Cardstock Set Release Blog Hop & Giveaway + Video!

These new Cardstocks are not just for layering…  Today I share 3 different ways to use them!  But first, did you know

that this is part of a Hop celebrating the new release from Altenew and if you are hopping along you should have arrived here from NATHALIE’s fabulous Blog!

Starting with my ‘leftovers’ and and inlay die cut technique. This beautiful Layered Rose Die does have layers but I thought it would look pretty with the different colours inlaid instead.

This Cherry Blossom Gradient Cardstock Set would have to be my fave, just look at those pinks!  I also decided to use the cardstock to create my own ombre striped background – stripes are so in right now, they are addictive!

My final design (and video) show how I created this ‘rose lace’ style card front and a sweet Mariposa layered butterfly.  I used the Red Cosmos Gradient Cardstocks for the darkest colour to get some extra contrast in these cards.

I also added some sentiments to these designs from the Stone Mosaic Stamp Set which has some great fonts and fab sentiments!

  1. Oh I love these gorgeous cards! That ombre stripe background, layered rose ombre die cuts are fabulous and the first card with the ombre inlay is so pretty, love to get more cards out of those die cuts.

  2. Love your cards today Therese. The colours are so rich they remind me of chocolate and cherries and Neapolitan ice cream. Yes, it’s tea time here, so that’s the way my mind is working. Both designs are beautiful and as usual, I’m inspired and my shopping list is to hand! The cardstock is fabulous and yet another “must have”. Thank you for another enjoyable and informative video. ❤️

  3. Gorgeous! I have that same layered rose die but have never gotten it to look that good. Guess that cardstock will be finding it’s way into my shopping cart!

  4. WOW your cards are beautiful!!! Your “Rose Lace” card is so delicate and could be used in so many ways!! Thank you for sharing

  5. I LOVE your videos. Your voice is so soothing. Love what you did with the flowers. Such a neat idea to make the background and snip those pieces away. Than to use those other insides to create such beautiful cards. Thanks for brightening my day!

  6. Love those pinks… beautifully done and the butterfly is a perfect addition. I also loved the inlay card. Nicely done.

  7. You have wowed me again here Therese with these beautiful pinky cards. Lots of cutting and detailing. I really enjoyed watching you make the ombre rose card. Thanks for sharing your talents with us.

  8. Your cards are gorgeous! I love the one you made in your video- just using the outline of the Layered Roses dies is so pretty!

  9. You are so inspiring Therese. I can see so many uses for these paper packs and I cannot wait to get some. No more worrying about matching colours! Both cards are amazing! Thank you for sharing.

  10. BEAUTIFUL CARDS !!!!! You captured the essence of the Gradient paper in your work. I LOVE the way you used the brown with the pinks, Stunning, simply stunning !!!

  11. There’s nothing better after a long week to find a email with your latest cards.
Such beautiful cards and the inlay was just inspired.
These new card packs are amazing and I love the colours that you’ve used today.
    The pinks are awesome!
I remember back when the mini blossom die cutting machine was released.
I ordered one because it was so sweet and new how great it would look on my desk.
Little did I know how much I’d use it. It’s an awesome tool and I’d be lost without it.
    Thanks and cheers
    Lisa

    1. Sweet! That’s a great reason to buy anything, but then when it becomes practical as well, it’s ticks the best box, so glad you are using it, I love mine too, it’s just so handy! Thanks yet again for your lovely visit Lisa x

  12. Gradient cardstocks make it so easy to color coordinate your projects and for die cutting! Love the size, too!! Beautiful projects!!

  13. I love your cards, especially the inlaid flower. The gradient cardstock is really a great idea, making a complete look with dies, ink and cardstock.

  14. My first thought when I saw these beautiful gradient papers was that would be so great for Altenew’s 3D dies (which I love). Now you’ve shown me other uses. I’m sold!

  15. The name Cherry Blossom is so fitting. It made me think of a chocolate bar I used to buy called Lowneys Cherry Blossom. It came in a box & was a milk chocolate mound, not a bar, with ground peanuts & it had a maraschino cherry in the centre. Talk about super sweet. I couldn’t eat one now. But I digress… Your card is beautiful using those yummy colours.

Thanks for visiting! I'd love to hear what you have to say.
