Happy Holidays Crafty Friends! I was in a quandry about what to post today as so many of us will be busy cooking and eating and then it came to me…. why not make some Christmas Thank You Cards, although of course these could be adapted for any thank you occasion.
This is part of my Take 2 with Therese video series with Altenew and if you haven’t caught any of these videos before I have a link to my playlist with more inspiration HERE.
I started with the Festive Poinsettia Stamp Set and used the Watercolor Brush Marker Refills to add an easy wash of colour.
I die cut the Mega Thanks Die with the Shades of Purple (Midnight Violet) and popped this up on some fun foam.
The sub sentiment was stamped in Obsidian Pigment Ink and is from the Neighborhood Stamp Set.
My second card uses the Modern Poinsettia Stamp Set.
This time I did some sentiment surgery as I wanted the card to be portrait style.
And I also used the ‘leftover’ paint on the palette to splatter both of the backgrounds.
You can see my video here or Watch it in HD on YouTube.

I hope you are inspired to try some simple watercoloring and make some Thank You cards! Til next time, Happy Holidays, Other Supplies: Cardstocks – Midnight Violet

Merry Christmas from Minnesota, USA! Thank you for the beautiful surprise this morning! My husband is still sleeping, so I had my chance to watch card videos in peace. 🙂
Love your”easy” watercolor look and color combinations. I can’t wait to get my hands on some of that colored card stock……maybe Santa has brought it????

What an amazing surprise! Happy Christmas Therese. Thank you for this amazing post on Christmas Day. Hope you enjoyed your day with your family as much as we did. Tomorrow I will think about how I will use your amazing inspiration to make my thank you cards; but for now, “Thank You” for all you have given to us over the past year. Best wishes to you for a happy and healthy new year.
Hope you are having the most fabulous of days, ours was lovely! Christmassy Hugs Therese
Beautiful cards, love the dark purple with the pretty poinsettias. Brilliant to cut the mega die cut thanks, looks fabulous. Happy Christmas.
Thanks so much Melissa, Happy Christmas to you too!
Beautiful blending on those gorgeous poinsettia’s Therese. What a great idea to cut the thanks for the second card. Hope you had a fabulous Christmas Day. Look forward to another year of your fabulous creativity in the New Year. Thank you for sharing with us all.
Happy Christmas Ina, looking forward to stalking you in the New Year! Hugs Therese
So lovely!
Thanks so much Bobby, Merry Christmas to you and yours x
The watercolouring looks great on these, especially on the festive poinsettia which has such lovely line art. The dark purple sentiment is fantastic on these. I hope you are having a fun, relaxing time now that the crazy bit of Xmas is over. We went to Brisbane and had a very relaxed Christmas.
These are just beautiful.
I hope you had a fantastic Christmas!
Thanks so very much Gab, Merry Christmas!
Wow, Therese! Girl, you are awesome! I love purple so a purple “thank you”…………….well, you know I LOVE it. Happy New Year from your friend in San Antonio, Texas. Or, as we say in Spanish, “Feliz Ano Nuevo.” Marisela
Happy New Year to you too! Thanks so much for your lovely visit and comments Marisela (ps I love purple too, but for some reason do not use it very often in card making…..)
Love the bold sentiment over the watercolour.
Hope you had a wonderful day! 🙂
Beautiful. I love the different treatments for the sentiment. I wouldn’t have thought to stack the word. Both are just stunning cards.
Such a creative idea!
Two gorgeous poinsettia cards, Therese! You designed them both to carry the large script “thanks” so well (preplanned or not). I am so concerned for you and your part of Australia (well all of it, really)with the fires. Keeping you in my prayers!
A beautiful duo, Therese … they’re both gorgeous! My favourite happens to be your favourite … it’s so drifty and dreamy, especially with your delicious soft watercolouring! Wishing you a happy and creative 2020, my friend! Hugs, Anita 🙂
Each time I see a segment on TV about Australia fires, I remind myself to write you. Well, here Ian I sure hope you and your family are safe!
Those are beautiful Therese! I love the use of the poinsettia stamps as thank yous. I don’t have your favorite one but can see why it would be. I’m going to add it to my wishlist!
