How to Make a Beautiful Blended Flower Background Panel #SpreadJoyNotGerms Hop Giveaway + 2 Videos!

It’s time for some Happy and I have 2 bright cheery Hex Frame designs to share!  This post is part of a massive

hop #spreadjoynotgerms and I am so proud to be joining Ellen Hutson and you should have arrived here from KRISTIE’s Wonderful Blog!

My first card started with a Catherine Pooler blended background on which I stamped the Mondo Sakura,
Lostinpaper - Ellen Hutson - Mondo Sakura - Hex Frames (card video) 3
and a sentiment from Latte Love (perfect for this occasion right?).

  1. I love this colour combo and that flower stamp. The hex layout and the sentiment are great too. I feel sorry for the owl though, looks like he can’t reach the ice cream. Is there something about staying home that makes one want more unhealthy food?

  2. Love your beautiful blended background and the way you die cut the shapes and arranged them. The 2nd card is so cute with those animals spaced apart. Cute sentiment.

  3. Oooo what a stunning colour combo and I love how the colours all subtle tone in with the next one, the animal one is very cute though.

Oooo what a great idea to cheer everyone up, in these strange times, Luv Sam x

  4. So happy to find you here Therese… that mondo is too beautiful and your blending, perfection. I do think your husbands idea also so appropriate right now. Thanks so much for joining in!

  5. I love your ink blending, Therese, and how the flower was placed on it. Cutting it with the hexes was such a unique idea and adds so much dimension.

  6. Your creativity always amazes me! When I first saw the Hexagon Frames I thought, “Meh, how would I use that?” Then, I watched today’s video and thought, “Oh my gosh, that’s brilliant!” You have such a gift for seeing beyond the ordinary!

  7. How much fun is that second card!!! And so perfect for these times … and a way to find a laugh. Perfect!! Thanks, Therese

  9. I love the juxtaposition on the first one of a very serious, classic image with a more modern, funny saying.

  10. Perfect for what’s happening in our world today! Love your use of hexagons on both cards and the ink blending is beautiful! Thank you for your inspiration!

I am not familiar, as in owning, the Catherine Pooler inks; but they blend quite nicely! Such pretty colors and the sentiment is perfect for right now! (Although, there should be limited folk outside, but not everyone follows direction!!!!)
Enjoyed the video as always and your two fun cards! Hugs!!!

  35. Just love both of your cards! The blending on your first card is amazing – and you chose such pretty colors to work with…gorgeous! The owl is so cute…but he really needs that ice cream! Lol. Thanks for all your amazing cards and happy videos! You always spread joy and brighten all of our days! 36. You always create such beautiful, unique cards. I do love this one and will be trying to copy it soon., You’re so right that we are very fortunate to have this hobby. I’m thankful every day. When I get stressed (or just bored) I go up to my craft room and make a card, maybe trying a new technique or simply going through my stash and trying to get creative. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t, but either way, it seems to ease my worries and I feel better.

  37. Lovely cards and especially love the socially distancing critters. They are definitely “little pieces of happy”. Thank you for sharing.

  38. Your color combination is great. The flower card is really pretty, and the “socially distanced” card has a great sense of white space. Thanks for sharing!

  39. Therese I love everything about both of your cards & am delighted you chose to include the video of the first one using EH mondo Sakura as I don’t “do” Instagram. Not enough hours in the day for it. I am also delighted you showed the critter card here though. I wouldn’t have not wanted to see it as it is the sweetest! Your DH sounds like he’s a bit of a “brat” like mine with his humour. lol Thanks so much!

  40. Two great cards – social distancing, flowers and ice cream. Doesn’t get any better than that! Thanks for sharing your lovely creations!

  41. Love the hexagons. The rabbit
    catching the ice cream makes
a fun card. thanks for sharing

  42. I love both cards. At least the first one has some distancing (haha). The colors on both ards is great. I love those combinations. Thank you for sharing and stay safe.

  43. I have been coveting the Mondo Sakura stamp for quite a while, but it never seems to be in stock. 😪 And I definitely don’t need another coffee set, but I would consider buying another one for that “it’s too peopley out”. Thanks for the inspiration!

  44. Hehe, too peopley outside, not the first time I’ve heard that, but it’s the first time I’ve seen it as a sentiment! Brilliant! Love your hex design and I think your hubby was right the second ‘socially distanced’ card is perfect!! (Though I really love your floral one too)! Hugs, Wends xoxo

  45. That first card is gorgeous. I love how you cut it out and pieced it together. The second card is so cute with the bunny and owl. Thanks for sharing,

  46. That sentiment is so cute and funny! Your cards are beautiful and fun and cute. Can’t wait to check out your other one on instagram!

LOVE your INKY AWESOMENESS and FABULOUS designs, LOVE that your husband shares in your CREATIVITY too, I’m so lucky to have a supportive husband too 🙂
Thank You for sharing and INSPIRING!

  49. That’s such a gorgeous colour combo, Therese … a beautifully blended background for that fabulous mondo bloom! Love the graphic hexagon pattern … even if those individual hexagons aren’t socially distancing! The little critters on your second card are adorable … I feel sure the bunny will put that ice cream on a stick for the owl to reach before getting another for himself! Perfect sentiment … and so fun! Hugs, Anita 🙂

  50. Fabulous cards, Therese. The first card is so lovely…like the hex cut idea. The second one is so cute! tfs-stay well.

  57. The social distancing critters – love it! Thank you for participating in this excellent way to encourage stay-at-home!

  58. I tried to leave a message a few days ago to let you know how awesome your cards. I really love the hexagons and think your comment about social distancing with your second card I a hilarious comment during the crazy times we are dealing with. So if my other comment went thru to you, you deserve both 😉 thanks for sharing!!!❤️

    1. Hey Deborah, thanks so much for the double comment! From what I can tell WordPress can be a little fickle at times, and I do appreciate that you returned to comment as you have made my day!! thanks so much, Stay safe (and inside crafting lol.) Crafty hugs, Therese

  59. I love the colors you used in your card and the technique for setting the hex pieces on the base. I actually wanted to make a card like this the other day and wasn’t sure how to get a good spacing. Thanks for sharing! Now I think I will go make one as well. By the way, LOL regarding your husband’s idea of proper distancing!! We will make it through, right?

  60. That first card is beautiful! The color combo is so pretty and so is the stamp. I love the sentiment on the second. It’s so funny-too peopley. Ha!! I just delivered today 86 cards that I made for nursing home residents. That was a labor of love. I have never made that many cards and probably never will again. I cheated on the last two and just got them out of my stash. I made them a long time ago. I was just too tired to make any more lol.

Thanks for visiting! I'd love to hear what you have to say.
