Altenew Paint-A-Flower: Hydrangea Release Blog Hop & Giveaway + Video!

Today is the first time that I have used the Watercolor Paper Set with the Watercolor Brush Markers and you know how fickle brush markers can be….  Altenew have released thenew Paint-A-Flower: Hydrangea and it is stunning, we are hopping along to celebrate the release so you should have arrived here from the LAURAJANE’s amazing Blog!

I usually only use Watercolor Brush Markers on Bristol style cardstock, and was excited to see how they would react with the new Paper Set from Altenew.  It’s bright white and smooth…  and being watercolor cardstock it will obviously tolerate more ‘water’ than the Bristol.  You can check out the results in the video linked below.

  1. I love your easy to follow videos. I just recently found your channel and I loved how you organized your stamps by stamping them and putting them in binders. I’ve almost completed organizing mine. I love the paint a flower stamps because you make it easy to watercolor flowers for someone like me with no natural talent. Thank you for sharing.

  2. Gorgeous hydrangeas! Love the arrangement with the striped patterned paper. The fussy cut border looks amazing flowing into the stripes!

  3. Gorgeous card. I always love your watercoloring. I really like the addition of the striped paper, as well as the fussy cut edge to the card

  4. This is a very stunning card…you have given me an idea on how to use the watercolor markers I haven’t played with yet!

  5. Hi Therese! Thank so much for the inspiration. I love what you did with the hydrangea stamp! Looking forward to watching the video over the weekend!

  6. This is gorgeous and I love the bold black stripes with the flowers. I have some fairly new watercolor markers and this was such a good technique video to get me going on using them.

  7. You make the best videos! I love your “no stress” feel and how you are light hearted with your approach. Your painting was spot-on with the color and I love the graphic pop of the stripes! One gorgeous card, indeed!

  8. As has been said, this is absolutely gorgeous, especially with the addition of the stripes. Thank you for the great video. Makes me think that even I can do it.

  9. I saw you do another hydrangea with PolyChromos pencils and wrote down the colors because I thought it was so beautiful, Therese. This one is even more so and the stripe is such a great accent along the fancy cut edge.

  10. Beautiful card Therese. Love the colouring, but particularly impressed by your fussy cutting. Always love your work.

  11. Gorgeous flowers, they almost look shimmery to me! I love how the shape of the flowers is cut out on the front of the card.

  12. Your card is absolutely gorgeous. I love that beautiful hydrangea! I also love Altenew’s watercolor brush markers and this morning I jumped on the sale for the Spring Garden set! I can’t wait to receive them, but now I need this stamp set AND Altenew’s watercolor paper!

  13. Awesome job coloring! What an inspired approach to fussy cut the edge of the hydrangeas and then backing with a black striped edging on the inside. I have come to look forward to your videos as I immensely enjoy your upbeat casual style and your the lilting voice. Your laugh is contagious! And I find myself laughing along with you. Thanks for your counsel not to get exercised about mistakes as they usually end up to be brilliant, although unintentional.

  14. Stunning coloring and hydrangeas!! Love the black and white stripes. Fabulous contrast withthe lovely hydrangeas! SO PRETTY! Thanks for sharing and creating!

  15. Can’t get enough of hydrangeas! So pretty with colors you have chosen. Thank you for the ideas of the washi tape background to the fuzzy cut edge. Very attractive?

  16. Beeeeeeeeeeeautiful watercolouring Therese. You blended those hydrangea’s so perfectly and so real looking. Love the stripe on the side and how you fussy cut so perfectly also.

  19. I know how much you love hydrangeas, so I was thrilled with your rendering today. The new card stock from altenew intrigued me. You seemed to have no problems watercolouring with it. Super excited to see how white it seems. Many thanks for the video today.
    Cheers

  20. That was very easy to watch and thank you for the tips. Love the edge against the black stripe. The flowers are fabulous and remind me of my mom adding vinegar to the soil to change them from blue or pink and usually achieved neither, but a very pretty varigation! Thanks and please be well!

  21. Thanks for another informative and entertaining video I could watch you all day long. You make it look so easy but `I know it isn’t. The result as always is such a beautiful card and your colouring and patience is so impressive.

  32. This is beautiful, Therese! Ahh, is was so refreshing to come over and watch one of your videos! I hope you are well and staying safe!

  33. I am having fun using the watercolor markers. Learned something new when I watched your video. And you are a master fussy cutter!!!
