    1. This is so pretty in a more chic classic way. I love this color combo great for wedding or a loss card it’s so striking.

  1. This stamp (and of course all the other altenew stamps) is really CRISP. I agree with Michele that this is lovely and a great choice for sympathy. I might like to try this technique myself!

  2. Comforting colors for the sentiment. The sentiment text looks slightly deep purple, which would be pretty, but I only see black in the inks shown.

  3. Comforting colors for a sympathy card. The text looks slightly dark purple but I only see black in the inks shown. Very pretty.

    1. Hi Linda, the text is stamped in black, but there may have been a refection of colour when I was taking the photograph?? I agree, in the main photo it does look a little purple. I will try better next time lol. Thanks so much for your lovely visit, Crafty hugs, Therese ps wouldn’t this flower be lovely in the grey purple family of colours ‘Sugarplums’?

  4. This stamp set is beautiful and would suit all types of cards but your subtle colours is perfect for this type of card.

  5. What a different concept for this delicate state flower of CO! Love the monochromatic color palette and simple stunning card design…perfect with your chosen sentiment!

  6. This card is perfection! I learn so much from you, watching your videos, and trying to emulate your style. Thank you!

  7. You have created a lovely sympathy card. I think gray is the most difficult choice for coloring a flower.
    Beautiful work!

  8. I really like this colour choice. It draws your eye to all the details of the flower, just like taking a photo of it in black and white. Lovely card!

  9. This is beautiful, elegant and perfect as a sympathy card. I love your technique for stamping the sentiment in the perfect place!

  10. I wouldn’t have thought to colour a flower this way, but for a sympathy card, this is suited so very well. I’m going to try this Therese. Thank you for the video. I always enjoy yours.

  11. This was a stunning card. I belong to a card exchange and one of our themes was gray. I think this will be a perfect way to use the colors. I also liked the tip of how you add the sentiment to your cards. Thank you for sharing.

  12. Your sympathy card immediately caught my eye on the Altenew Blog! The perfect card for the occasion in my eye–love it, Therese!

  13. Oh wow, I would NEVER thought of doing this flower in greys. But it is perfect for a sympathy card. TFS

  14. Perfection! This is the nicest — and prettiest — sympathy card I’ve seen in a long time. The black/white theme is perfect for the sentiment/occasion. Simple, peaceful and pretty. You nailed it!!!

  15. Soft, unexpected and stunning! Enjoyed watching the process. So perfect for sending condolances.

  16. This is stunning. A reminder that you can do so much without adding colour. Love this monochromatic card!

  17. Your monochromatic card is perfect as a condolence card which unfortunately I’ll be making more of. Thanks for getting my creative juices going with the monochromatic idea.

  18. Huge fan of the monochromatic greys! Haven’t tried it yet, but definitely wanting to give it a go after this card! 😍😍😍

  19. Oh Therese, what a gorgeous card and I adore the way that sentiment looks. I’m in the middle of making sets of sympathy cards as gifts and how I would love t have that sentiment. Unfortunately, it just makes no sense to buy every single stamp and die set, let alone to buy such a large set for one sentiment. In any case, most wonderful card. Thank you so much for sharing your talent and for inspiring me.
    All the very best,
    Caroline

    1. I totally hear you, I know I have bought a set of stamps just for a sentiment in the past, but it’s not something that I would usually do either lol. Thanks for your lovely visit here today Caroline!

  20. Since you said you knew black and white isn’t everyone ‘s favorite, I am going to be honest with you. I love color. I feel like you missed a lot of this flower’s detail by choosing not to use color. It resembles a daffodil more than a Colombine. I love how you placed your sentiment. What a good tip.

  21. Therese, not only is this mu ‘cup’ of tea…being from The Anerican South, this is a “big o’l glass of ice tea”! ( and no, we don’t pronounce the ‘d’ of ‘iced’😉)
So, so beautiful ! Thank you for this beautiful design…did I mention that it is so beautiful?🌞

  22. I just got this set of inks this week to make “white” flowers. I am so excited to try this technique. Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful card!

  23. Very well done! Always hard to compose the right tenor of a sympathy card- I like this one.

  24. I knew this card would be yours in these grey tones. Absolutely stunning. This flower is so detailed.
Thank you for the inspiration.. Well done Altenew.
    Keep well.
    T x

  25. The flower looks beautiful in those grays, Therese, especially fitting for a sympathy card.

  26. What a gorgeous card and who knew a flower stamped in grey tones could look so pretty. Thanks for sharing.

  27. WOW! I never would have thought to do this in the grey/ black tones but it is absolutely gorgeous!

  28. Your card is stunningly beautiful Therese! I’m not a black and white girl, though I love the classic look it produces, but I could be ‘turned’ with this card – it is so impactful, yet subdued. Perfect for a sympathy card, but no doubt, many other styles using different colours!

  29. Oh how elegant! I love it, perfect for a sympathy card. I always struggle with them, I want them to be beautiful, but am never quite sure if they are subdued enough, or too much!
    TFS
    Blessings,
    Karen Q

  30. I love this card, it is probably my top favourite from this blog hop but its so hard to decide with so many wonderful cards to choose from! I just really love all the cards you do with the rock set collection! I need to get that set! I have used your tip from stamping acetate for the saying and then deciding where to place it! It is such a ingenious idea! Love your video!

  31. Love the monochromatic look. It is perfect for a sympathy card. I typically struggle with them, but I think you have hit the nail on the head with this lovely card.

  32. Wow! An absolutely stunning card! Such an unusual choice, but I think the greys really highlight all the amazing details of this stamp. Thank you as always for being a wonderful inspiration.

  33. Awesome columbine set! I love seeing wild columbines in our northwest woods and I love your card! It is spectacular even in black & white!

  34. I never would of thought of using the monochromatic palette for a flower, but this is quite sophisticated.

  35. I am enamored with this monochrome card. Perfectly solemn but beautiful. You clearly are artistic and think “outside the box”‘

  36. This card is great and the colors are perfect for a sympathy card which are so hard to make.

  37. Love the monochromatic color scheme.
You don’t always need a lot of coloring
to have a beautiful flower. thanks
    for sharing txmlhl(at)yahoo(dot)com

  38. I just love the monochromatic look on this flower. Altenew does layering flowers like no other company. Just love them.

  39. WowI I never would have thought to use such a monotoned color like that for flowers but your card is so wonderful. Thanks for sharing! I will have to try this!

  40. Therese, this is very elegant and I like how you did it and how it turned out. The black and white is elegant and will convey love and grief in this sympathy card. Enjoyed your video: as I always do!!! Cheers!

Thanks for visiting! I'd love to hear what you have to say.
