Altenew Mixed Media Inks Blog Hop & Giveaway!

Do you know which ink you can use on wood? Well today I have a video sharing some beautiful new inks from Altenew which are perfect for this!

Welcome to the new Mixed Media Ink release from Altenew. Did you arrive here from CHEIRON’s fabulous Blog? if you did, then you are in the right place!

I decided to try these inks out on Altenew’s fab Birch Wood Cardstock, which is, you got it….. made from real wood!

I stamped out some beautiful Winter Roses, I love that you can see some of the texture of the wood in the background.

I added some leaves and a big ‘Thanks’ from the Halftone Circles Stamp Set.

And as a final touch I thought some Red Cosmos Enamel Dots would suit just fine.

You can see my video here or Watch it in HD at YouTube.

  8. Love the way the colors look on the birch wood card stock! They are so bright and the coverage is excellent. Just using the two flower layers gives a gorgeous full looking flower. Very pretty design!

  9. Wow!!! This is beautiful. I love these layering stamps and can’t believe that they can be stamped on wood as well. The colors are so intense and stamped so smoothly!

  10. I did not know Altenew had wood cardstock! And these new inks look great on them. Thanks for another great idea!

  11. Love that card! I’m excited about these mixed media inks and can’t wait to try them. And now I want some of that birch wood cardstock!

  12. Beautiful! Love the colors you chose.
Wood cardstock?! Who knew, it would be so much fun to give this a try!
    Thanks for sharing.

  13. The ink colors are wonderful on the birch wood paper. I had no idea how nice they would look. Fantastic idea and project!

  14. Every time I open my emails and see your name I can’t wait to see what lovely creatIon you have made now! You have a real gift !

  15. The birch cardstock is perfect with the new inks! Love how you used the base stamp and the top stamp in the set and how you used the darker ink around the edges.

  16. Birchwood card stock? Wow! The roses you stamped on it look so very pretty Therese. That’s five different surfaces I’ve seen these inks used on so far. I’d like to be able to invest in each set as they are released.

  17. I am so glad you did stamp on wood. It looks excellent, Therese. I have a lot of balsa wood, and it is giving me ideas.

  18. You always have the best ideas Therese…loved this idea of stamping on the wood veneer….and those luscious colours are fantabulous!

  19. How beautiful! Love the blooms on the wood card stock; kind of a rustic elegance. The new inks really did the trick!

  20. Therese, I love your card. I also love the stamp set! I have been trying to figure out where the outline fits for ages and boom, it’s now so clear by watching you make ‘magic’ right before my eyes! Thank you, thank you, thank you! I will save this video but I think I’ve got it now!

  21. Lovely! I cannot wait to try these inks on wood or birch paper! I can see myself stamping all around the house! Thanks for the inspiration Therese!

  22. I love this beautiful card, Therese! The ink stamping on the wood opens up a lot of possibilities! Love it!!

  23. I love these colors! Pigment inks are great because you can clear emboss over them for a shiny look. I am going to have to try that wood “card stock” for something different. It’s fun to shake things up every now and then.

  24. Oh my! Now I know what the next thing I have to get my hands on…that birch cardstock is incredible, and would be absolutely perfect for stamping some masculine cards, or even some rustic decor ❤️❤️❤️

  25. Thanks for the amazing inspiration! I absolutely love all the great ideas! Makes me want to pull out my supplies and start playing!

  26. love this look — and this color red. My efforts at stamping on red were all blurry edges, bled out. Did this work because its birch?

    1. The edges are a little blurry but I did heat set it so this may have made a difference??? or it could be the ‘birch’ that I used, maybe I’ll try another brand and see.

  27. I thought the close up really showed how well this ink works on surfaces other than paper. I’m impressed that it didn’t run. Did you heat set it to stop the running or is this the ink itself?

    1. I did heatset it just a little with the ‘low’ setting on my heat tool, but I also think that if I had given it time it would have dried on it’s own too… I’m just impatient lol.

  28. Love the look of these inks on wood. Will definitely have to give this a try. Thanks for the inspiration and the helpful video!
