4 Ways to Use Beautiful Images on Your Cards! + Video!

Do you have trouble making cards using images? Today I have some fabulous new stamps from Spellbinders and 4 different image projects to share with you.

I am Guest Designing at Spellbinders and this new release from Jane Davenport inpsired me to look at these stamps and create 2 different design styles! Starting with the Clean and Simple….

Spellbinders - Therese Calvird - Project 1 - 1

And then onto something a bit different, with some colouring on a blended background!

This ballerina image is from the Beautiful Dreamer Stamp Set. This sketchy style image is perfect for some simple Copic colouring.

And for some fun I popped up the tutu and added a little sparkle.

My second card uses an image from the Fluent Fantastic Stamp Set.

The sentiment for this card is from the Letterboard Mini’s set and I think this would be perfect for a teenage girl (it was so quick and easy too!).

Next, this Glorious Mermaid was coloured with pencils directly on a blended Distress Oxide background.

And this sentiment came from the Queen of Everything… and I know a few people that this sentiment would work perfectly for lol.

My final design is quite similar but this time I stamped the Singing Mermaids off the edge of the blended background and onto the card front as well.

And yet again the Letterboard Mini’s worked perfectly here too.

I hope you have been inspired to create some ‘image’ cards today!  Thanks so much to Spellbinders and I hope that you all have the most wonderful day.  Hugs

  1. Oh my… these are so lovely. The blended ink backgrounds are divine, and I love the slightly muted effect of colouring on the inked pieces. Fantastic cards, Therese.

  2. Oh my gosh, these are so beautiful. The ballerina reminds me of my cousin, the awesome card reminds me of my granddaughter. Such wonderful images, and the way you presented them makes them even more so.

  3. Ohhh my goodness Therese these are stunning, each image coloured just perfectly and your designs and use of the images just blows my mind. I love them and want to just sit and look at each in its beauty xxx Aileen

  4. I love how simple these are! I have always wondered what to do with these sorts of images. Love the ballerina card!

  5. Wow! Beautiful cards, Therese, and wonderful design work! I would never have thought to use Prismacolor over Oxides! The effect is lovely and I can’t wait to try it. ☺

  6. Love these sketchy images and that you used a variety of mediums on these cards. The ballet skirt and the glitter really make the first card. I was relieved there were no paw prints!

  7. The stylish simplicity of the first two is fabulous, Therese … and the splattered, beautifully blended ocean provides your mermaids with such a magical environment … just lovely (as is your sweet black kitty!) Hugs, Anita 🙂

  8. I absolutely love each one of these cards, Therese! The popped up tutu is a fantastic detail, and I love the simplicity of both of your first cards. That oxide ink combination is gorgeous and perfect with those mermaid images, and the coloring with pencils is amazing! Fabulous designs on each of these cards too!
