What makes you buy a crafty product? Today at my LIVE I talk about WHAT makes me buy something….
I was inspired by some ‘new to me’ products today from a recent order with Ellen Hutson. AND did you see, the new release is nearly here… only one more sleep!
I have a few reasons but in particular I like to be able to see something that I can use in a few different ways!

In today’s LIVE I made one card but of course there were some ‘left over’ rainbow pieces so I just had to make a couple more!

I used the Rainbow Card Die and some bright Concord & 9th cardstock…. and a dotted Modern Graphic 2 sheet as well!

These cute frogs are from Hero Art’s Hoppy Day Stamp Set and of course mine had to be ‘green’.

I loved using the Essential Clouds to frame my sentiments.

You can see my LIVE video here or watch it in HD at YouTube.
If you want to join me for my next LIVE use THIS LINK on Tuesday March 9th at 8am (Brisbane AEST time). Looking forward to having some more fun then! Do Rainbows make you happy? I think they are awesome on a card design but add frogs and you have me at Hello lol. Big Crafty Hugs,

I have to pay better attention so that I can try to catch your live videos. I absolutely adore thses frog and rainbow cards
You are such a creative genius.the colors you used are just perfect. And you make me spend my crafty money!😉❤going to buy the frogs and rainbow now and maybe the cardstock. Every time I’ve tried to pick it up it’s been out of stock. Fo gets crossed.
It’s really lovely cardstock and I love that I get a ‘bit of everything’ although I want it all lol. Hope you have the most fabulous day Kim and crossed fingers you can come to the next LIVE.
I should have checked my spelling. My last sentence should have been”fingers crossed”😄 the cardstock sampler was out of stock…LOL, but my frogs and rainbow are already on their way. Definitely recreating your cards.especially the one with the frog on the flower.hope you dont mind. I will have to change the rainbow colors up, but will try something similar, blues, teals, greens and oranges are my favorite colors.
Would love to see your take on this flower loving frog, it’s my fave from the set too! Maybe next time for the cardsdtock lol. Hugs Tx
These rainbow cards are so cute!
Makes for an easy card, that’s for sure!
Looks like you had a fun ‘after party’ too, Therese – OH do I love these frogs! We all have such fun during your LIVES – hope you got a giggle over that ‘fussy-cutting’ comment – thanks so much for sharing your talent, AND your time with us! xx
=]
I did have fun with the ‘leftovers’ lol. and that’s what coordinating dies are for…. one day I will set up the scan n cut and it will work perfectly immediately and I won’t ever have a fussy cutting care in the world any more hahaha.
Love these three cards. They’re really fun and they’re bright and colourful too. Thank you Therese, missed the Live, but still very much enjoyed the video. I need to get myself organised on the timings.
Well you know that I am struggling a little myself lol. I am thinking it may be easier just to send out an email before the event as a reminder?? So I am in the process of setting up an email list.
Love the more masculine rainbow colors and the pattern paper! I have a more tacky, gaudy style, so I would have added the foil AND glitter. Can’t change my stripes at this age. I was on the fence with purchasing that rainbow die, but now……on my “next order” list along with FROGS! Thanks for the fun video!
I love that I could easily create some fast shaped cards which I haven’t done in an age, I always have such a blast at the LIVE’s and only wish I could create and read all the comments along the way instead of after. Glad you enjoyed it June! ps bring on the foil and glitter!!
Great cards. Going to check out what frogs I have in my collection!
Agree have to be inspired to create with the product, be able to use it in more than one way/occassion, and I do like carts that let me keep adding or wishlists! I have a few wishlists on the go in case a sale pops up I can purcase straight away. I don’t buy so much from overseas these days except from Jane’s Doodles and Stamplorations. And yes I will add extras like tapes to my cart to get free/cheaper shipping – I’d rather get product than pay for shipping some strange logic there!! I keep a track of my stamps and dies on evernote – free version – can have on my phone and computer. So if I am at a craft show (we will have those again) I can see if I have that or something similar and I also have a few company specific apps but I don’t really use those!. When I was first starting to buy stamps I would buy because I saw one card I liked, now I am a lot more choosy and don’t jump on trends as quick. It took me ages to start buying alcohol markers and I don’t have any foil. I am sticking with my bigshot for now as it still works (I also have a quickutz in the cupboard that still works insert embarassed face – I should find it a new home). I don’t think I can justify a scan and cut at the moment – I’d have to find room for a start!
Hi Vicki, I agree that it makes sense not to jump on trends immeditately, mostly I sit back and watch for a bit and then swoop in like I’m missing out on something lol. I do like techniques and new tools though, they can be my weakness…. as for the Scan n Cut, I probably wouldn’t have bought it just yet but I actually won it, so maybe that’s why it’s taken me an age to get it going (and the lack of time I’ve had in the past few months, but I’ve started some lessons now and am getting excited). I am very happy that I bought the Gemini though, ti’s been one of my best investments, though as you say the Big shot does it all and I still uise mine, but I die cut A LOT and it’s quicker and my arthritis thanks me lol. Hope you are having a lovely weekend, I’m back to work this morning and walking the dog at the beach this afternoon. Hugs Tx
Congrats on your win! That’s a great win. I am still able to crank the handle on the big shot with ease so I’m lucky there. Looking forward to seeing the dog photo bomb your videos! hehe I plan to do some fabric cutting this afteroon – I joined a sew a long (SAL) on instagram my first ever!
So enjoyed the replay, Therese … and as everyone else did, I loved seeing the frog and rainbow come together … not to mention that little guy’s two friends who appear here … so cute! It’s so fun to read the chat coming up while watching … it’s almost as good as being there! Hugs, Anita 🙂
Yay! Glad you got to visit, and I agree reading the chat is like crafting with friends, although I have to read much of it afterwards as it scrolls too fast for me to catch everything while I’m crafting.
I liked the 2nd design.. Its very creative and suits every background..
Thanks so much!
Just loved watching the replay. Would be great to catch a live but for my job.
At present I’ve got Wednesdays and Saturdays off.
Why do we buy things? I’m sure there’s a Phd waiting to be written.
I love colour and techniques. I adore florals, stencils are amazing and don’t start me on die cutting.
My husband bought me a glimmer hot foil for my birthday two years ago, went into my Wishlist folder, I didn’t even know he knew I had one, it’s amazing and I’ve used it so much. Yana has the best videos on how to use it.
End of 2020 I was diagnosed with CREST Syndrome and rheumatoid arthritis, so I’m researching the gemini machine.
To be honest, sometimes I just buy something because it makes me smile. That’s how Altenews mini blossom machine arrived and I use it on nearly every card and it still makes me smile.
Your frog cards were just toadally awesome and popping them on rainbows made them more magical.
Cheers
Lisa
Hi Lisa,
I didn’t think I ‘needed’ an eletronic die cutting machine but now that I have it realise how much it helps me with my hands (and I only have the beginning of arthritis lol). AND I do a LOT of die cutting as dies also are one of my fave supplies. I think I’m just going to bite the bullet and buy the Gemini foil press…but I really should get my Scan n cut out of the box first!
I have a week’s holidays next week (mostly took it to create my next Altenew Academy course but to be honest I only have 3 days left of the 11 off with nothing booked in, don’t know how that happened). Hope your week is fantastic will have to have a LIVE on a Wednesday or Saturday for you… you never know, which shift work I seriously can’t commit to a set schedule which is frustrating I know.
Crafty hugs, Therese x
Eek! Those froggies are adorable and I love the non-traditional rainbow colours! These are toadily awesome!
