EASY Bright Backgrounds & LINEART Fun | Take 2 With Therese + Video!

Do you struggle using large image stamps on your card designs? Today I have 2 cards with bright backgrounds created 2 different ways and a FUN technique to use your large stamps and it’s EASY!

But before we start did you know that this video is part of my Take 2 With Therese series of videos that I create for Altenew? You can check out the full playlist right HERE for more inspiration.

Today I wanted to use the Tall Foliage Stamp Set and share with you 2 ways to use these large images on your card designs. And a very quick and EASY way to do this is with Lineart Stamping (that means no colouring)!

But I also wanted to share a couple of different ways to create a beautiful background for your Lineart, starting with an ombre Ink Blended Background which was easy to do with the Altenew Ink Blending Tool.

I also thought it would be fun to ‘elevate’ the image using an inlay die cutting technique with the co-ordinating die.

And some strategically places White Satin Sequins as a result of….. well, it’s in the video lol.

My next design shares a different background, this time I created a ‘washy’ look using the Altenew Artists’ Watercolor Set.

This time I had an incident with a cat hair and thus the Mega You Die was placed centrefront,

Altenew - Tall Foliage - Mega You Die - Hello and Hugs - Take 2 With Therese (card video) (4) copy

with a subsentiment from the Hello and Hugs Stamp Set.

You can see my video here or Watch it in HD at YouTube.

I hope you are inspired to create some bright backgrounds and add some ‘Lineart’ with your Altenew goodies! Thanks so much for stopping by today, hugs,

  1. You make the most lovely cards. I really enjoy your videos. I’d love to know where you get the yellow finger coverings that you use when blending. I have extremely oily fingers, and when I touch the paper while blending, it makes a mark sometimes, so those may do the trick for me.

    1. Hi Michelle, they are silicon finger gloves and I bought them at Auzz Trinklets N Krafts, here is my afflink https://bit.ly/2Pm0803 so far I haven’t seen them anywhere else but you could try Amazon? But they really are handy (pardon the pun), thanks so much for your lovely visit here today, hugs Tx

  2. Therese, this beauty has been in, then out, then back in to my cart – hope it sticks the next time!! LOve what you’ve done with it here! I have some other ideas, too! xx

  3. Love the classic Therese color combo! Does Altenew have “stray cat hairs” as a new product? 🙂
btw– I love your yellow finger cots! much better than full gloves!

  4. I have this set and surprise, surprise, I’ve yet to use it. However, your cards today are truly beautiful and inspiring. I will get my stamps and dies out tomorrow and take inspiration from your designs. I love both of your cards. They’re really beautiful and it’ll be great to Trey the techniques in different colour combos.

    1. Yes, I could really see it in a combo of the blues and greens…. what about greys with a silver embossed image? You can tell that I really need to play with this set some more! Hope you have fun Delia.

  5. The raised inlay and the beautiful colours are perfect for these stamps. I’m always interested in ideas for covering imperfections too.

  6. More great quick but wonderfully striking ideas, Therese!! Well done!! 🙂 (Always good to see other people leave a mark occasionally and how they hide it!! 🙂 🙂 🙂 )

  7. Oooh, Therese … to coin a phrase … these are a few of my favourite things … blended or watercolour panels with line art … and they’re simply gorgeous! As ever, it’s a joy to see how easy you make it look to create such loveliness … most inspiring! Hugs, Anita 🙂

  8. Love the way you created the watercolor blend. So beautiful. This is one of my favorite color combos and you always have such delightful designs.

  9. Hello, Therese
Loved the video, and you’re a phenomenal blender with all the mediums. Beautiful cards and your techniques are so inspiring. Thank you ;-D
