Altenew Suddenly Spring Stand-Alone Dies Release Blog Hop & Giveaway + Video!

Have you ever created an inlay die cut background? Today I even coloured the entire card front too, but first….

Did you know that Altenew has a new stand-alone die release and I just had to make a few cards to share! We are hopping along at Altenew so you should have arrived here from MICHELLE’s amazing Blog!

I saw these pretty flowers from the Whimsical Garden Layering Die Set and the fine outline screamed out inlay die cut to me and why not do the whole card front hey?

I used Altenew Artist Markers to colour the whole card front, yes you heard me right, I don’t know what I was thinking but it seemed like a great idea at the time lol.

And nothing like a fabulous sentiment used as a cover up…… true! Check it out in the video linked below.

You can see my video  or Watch it in HD at YouTube.

  4. I also enjoy making inlay die cut cards. This is the perfect die to do this technique. Thank you for sharing such a lovely card.

  5. Love when you share your video with the ideas for what worked and what problems you encountered along with other ideas.

  6. Love the Whimsical Garden Layering die set. Your card is stunning and I appreciate your tips for it’s creation. i would hope that I would have the patience to create an inlay card in this manner, but I’m not sure. Lol! I have covered a mistake with a sentiment in the past and will probably do so again. Yours was the perfect solution and no one knows!!!!

  7. Love your inlaid die cut card. I love doing that and this looks like the perfect die set to use for this technique. The colors you used are lovely together.

  8. Love the pastel colors! The inlay technique makes for a great one-layered card. What? no droplets?? 🙂

  9. This is so inspiring, dear Therese. Thank you so much for sharing. I will give this a try with a different die from Altenew — that seems to be collecting dust since I’m running out of ideas to use it. I hope you don’t mind if I use your card as an inspiration for mine.
    Have a wonderful week,
    Caroline

  14. Another lovely “Therese card”! Inlaid cards really are quite beautiful, especially when you can see it & feel it in person. Very luxurious! I feel like as long as you are enjoying the process, it’s ok if some cards take longer or are more fiddly. They are twofors because they bring joy to both the creator & the recipient!
I hope the time helping take care of your father after surgery went (or is still going?) well. I’m sure your parents are appreciative and happy to have time with you!

  15. I watched your video and was so impressed with how you kept track of all the many die cut pieces and colored them appropriately lol! The end result to your detailed work is an absolutely beautiful card, Therese. As always, thanks for the amazing inspiration!

  16. I can’t believe you took the time to color everything on this card but the look is sooo worth it. Love your color choices and the fact that you kept the coloring simple. Blending colors would have created a much different look and this look is perfect. Thanks for sharing and all the tips! It was also helpful to see how to refill my markers.

  17. Inlay cards are so beautiful! You really set a challenge for yourself with repeats of the flower and off the edge. Your colors are so pretty and the result totally worth it. Thanks for the inspiration.

  19. Terese, this was beautiful. After watching your video in amazement and realizing how you made it, I couldn’t believe it. No way could I do this! My luck I’d get it almost done and discover I had lost some pieces. Plus I ado not have your patience and steady hand.

  20. Oh my goodness…this card reminds me so much of the colors of the 50’s and 60’s…those fun pastels! So cute!!!

  21. How I have missed watching your videos not only are they informative but also very entertaining. This has to be one of my all-time favourite cards the soft colours beautiful inlaying and die cutting and I adore the bold sentiment in the centre.
