Have you ever added Abstract scene elements to a card? Today I had die cuts everywhere and I had a blast!
You can find these cards and more pics over at the Ellen Hutson Blog HERE!

I had a great time playing with these cover dies and only I just realised now that I didn’t actually use one as a ‘cover die’ lol. I started with the Abstract Mountain.

and now for the Abstract Sunset…

I hope you are inspired to create some ‘Abstract’ cards! Hugs,

Oooo, love them all. I feel drawn to the “you are kind” one the most but all the colors and abstract layering is amazing.
Thanks so very much Lisa
These are fabulous, Therese! Lobe the colours too, and how retro is the swirly you!
You can’t go wrong with a ‘swirly’ You I say lol.
Theresa, these are amazing! My house is full of abstract art, so I have inspiration all around me, but have never thought to incorporate that into a card. Thank you so much for this inspiration.
Abstract art is fabulous on a card and you can create in any colour combination that you like, the options are endless! I hope you have fun with it Michelle!
Beautiful cards, love the color combos too. I think the abstract style helps me with new color combos because there is no “this flower is supposed to be this color” thinking.
I agree that abstract gives us any colour option but I often don’t look at what a flower colour that it ‘should’ be otherwise I feel like I ‘need’ to colour it that way. It keeps people guessing lol.
Loving the blended colors the very most – all gorgeous, Therese!
=]
Thanks so much Michele!
As an abstract art fan/collector, 100% in my wheelhouse! Gorgeous color choices too, Sweet flowers are fine but this rocks us out of tried and true.
But I can’t find the die on Ellen’s, C&9th’s or Altenew’s site. In the upcoming Ellen release maybe?
You are absolutely correct, these dies are from the new release happening at Ellen Hutson June 11th! (except the Essential Hexagons which are already available) Hope this helps Tx
So happy that you like the inspiration, the dies are now available at Ellen Hutson, they were part of a sneak peek for the release. Hugs Tx
Super-fun ways to use those dies
Thanks so much Stef!
Wow! Love them all so very much. The kind card really speaks to my heart though.
Cheers
Lisa
Thank you LIsa
I love these abstract cards. Using blended cardstock takes it up a level.
And it’s a great way to get the exact colour that you want too!
Always gorgeous, Therese! Love them all!!! Super pretty cards, kind a retro style.
Thank you Natasa!
I love the abstract shapes within the geometric shapes. Beautiful colors and definitely eye-catching designs!
Thank you Stef!
these are so cool … love the colour combinations!
Thanks Gab!
I am in love with the shaped hexagon card! I will be CASEing – just sayin 🙂
Hope you have fun with it Vicki!
Beautiful! Love them!
Thanks so much!
Gorgeous!
Now I must dig out my hexie dies – I don’t think I’ve used them for cardmaking just to make hexies for EPP!! hehe
Great how you used the hexagon for an interesting shaped card– very “fancy”!
