3 Ideas for Some Abstract FUN Scene Cards!

Have you ever added Abstract scene elements to a card? Today I had die cuts everywhere and I had a blast!

You can find these cards and more pics over at the Ellen Hutson Blog HERE!

Lostinpaper - Ellen Hutson - Abstract Mountain - Abstract Sunset - All About You - And Many More - Essential Hexagons (card) (2)

I had a great time playing with these cover dies and only I just realised now that I didn’t actually use one as a ‘cover die’ lol. I started with the Abstract Mountain.

And my next card shows just what you can do with the ‘left over’ die cuts.

and now for the Abstract Sunset…

I hope you are inspired to create some ‘Abstract’ cards! Hugs,

  1. Oooo, love them all. I feel drawn to the “you are kind” one the most but all the colors and abstract layering is amazing.

  2. Theresa, these are amazing! My house is full of abstract art, so I have inspiration all around me, but have never thought to incorporate that into a card. Thank you so much for this inspiration.

    1. Abstract art is fabulous on a card and you can create in any colour combination that you like, the options are endless! I hope you have fun with it Michelle!

  3. Beautiful cards, love the color combos too. I think the abstract style helps me with new color combos because there is no “this flower is supposed to be this color” thinking.

    1. I agree that abstract gives us any colour option but I often don’t look at what a flower colour that it ‘should’ be otherwise I feel like I ‘need’ to colour it that way. It keeps people guessing lol.

  4. As an abstract art fan/collector, 100% in my wheelhouse! Gorgeous color choices too, Sweet flowers are fine but this rocks us out of tried and true.

But I can’t find the die on Ellen’s, C&9th’s or Altenew’s site. In the upcoming Ellen release maybe?

    1. You are absolutely correct, these dies are from the new release happening at Ellen Hutson June 11th! (except the Essential Hexagons which are already available) Hope this helps Tx

    2. So happy that you like the inspiration, the dies are now available at Ellen Hutson, they were part of a sneak peek for the release. Hugs Tx

  5. Wow! Love them all so very much. The kind card really speaks to my heart though.
    Cheers

  6. Always gorgeous, Therese! Love them all!!! Super pretty cards, kind a retro style.

  7. Great how you used the hexagon for an interesting shaped card– very “fancy”!
