Do you struggle with ideas for men’s card designs? Well today I share some simple and easy recipes that work for me every time! ….and I even have a fun BONUS idea!
Would you like to see today’s cards?

You can see my video here or Watch it in HD at YouTube.
Idea #1: Create a Focal Sentiment
Why not make the sentiment the star of the show? And you can use any one that you like or create your own to suit. Firstly I started by creating the Nordic Cross background.

Then I used ‘Hooray’ from the Winning Words Die Set. The size make’s it perfect for a focal point and why not add some extra fun with a cheeky speech bubble.

Idea #2: Use a Simple Image
This is another fun and easy idea. You can use whatever image you want to and I chose Everything’s Beachy Stamp Set.

I love that this sentiment could be used for more than just birthdays. And it’s from Totally Random Sayings Vol 1.

Idea #3: Use Geometric or Solid Shapes
This is another tried and true technique I ‘go to’ for masculine cards. Today I chose circles from the Stay Cool Set, but you could use triangles, stars or even splats lol.

After I finished stamping I added a sentiment from That Thing You Did.

Bonus Idea: Make it a Shaker!
Now, what to do with the leftover ‘Nordic Cross’ bits? I made my first Infinity A2 Shaker and it was so easy to do.

I added another focal sentiment and this one is from the And Many More Stamp Set.

Are you planning to make some masculine cards soon? I hope you try some of these ideas and if you do I’d love it if you would share them with me on social media, so I can see how you were inspired.
Hope you are having the most fantastic holiday season and are finding some time to relax and enjoy.

Great masculine colour combo. Love all of these. Maybe the circles are my favourite. I hope you had a lovely Christmas.
Thanks so much Christine, having a lovely break and hope that you are finding some time to relax and maybe even create! Hugs Tx
Inspired card and that bonus shaker, wow!
Hoping you’ve had a wonderful Christmas. Expect the doggo and kittens had a wonderful time too. Here’s to a creative 2022.
Cheers
Lisa
Having the most fabulous time, thank you Lisa. Hope you are finding some to relax and enjoy a bit of crafty time maybe lol.
Hola, Therese! Wow! What gorgeous cards! Your color blending is always on point, but, girlfriend, the circles card is fabulous! I just love polka dots and these are close enough! Love, love, love! 💜💜💜
Feliz Ano Nuevo, Therese! Happy New Year! 🎉🎉🎉 All God’s blessings to you and yours! Who knows? Maybe 2022 will find me in Australia for a visit!! Whoa, that would be awesome! I’ll be the chubby girl walking down your driveway, yelling, “Therese! I’m here!” haha haha 😂😂😂 I am teasing, of course. Thanks for joking with me. Warm hugs!
the dotty one is my fave too, I’m glad you liked it! Happy New Year to you too my friend and you can certainly pop by for a visit if you are ever in the area but be prepared to walk ‘up’ the driveway it’s very steep lol. Hugs Tx
Season’s Greetings Therese. Hope you enjoyed Christmas and we’re able to spend some time with your family. Thanks so much for these wonderful ideas. I had been trying to decide what I might use to make my hubby’s birthday card (his b’day is in just over a week’s time) and you’ve inspired me. I don’t have any of the stamp sets you used, but I do have some similar which I’m pretty sure will work. You’re right, the bright colours and simple compositions work well for male cards. It’s certainly what my hubby likes. Hope you and your family have a very happy New Year.
Glad that you were inspired Delia! I also find that a bit of humour also goes well on a masculine card design, nothing like a quirky pun to bring a smile lol.
Happy New Year, dear Therese!
Gorgeous cards — for guys, gals or anyone in-between (I don’t buy into gendered cards, which does not prevent me from enjoying your creative masterpieces here).
I’m completely with you when it comes to Mint To Be; one of my favourites from CP. Why are they shaking things up? Or mess with a good thing? I hope that the replacement is just as beautiful, but if not I will buy up all the refills I can find.
Thanks for sharing your talent and take care,
Caroline
I’ve heard it’s a very similar colour so crossed fingers the new ‘minty’ colour will be even better…. I have faith in Catherine! Thanks so much for your lovely visit here today Caroline!
