Have you tried hot foiling yet? Did you know that I’m addicted……
But first, this post is part of a Hop celebrating a new release from Altenew so you should have arrived here from MINDY’s wonderful Blog.
Seriously, I just can’t get enough of hot foiling right now and Altenew has been very helpful to me here lol. Check out this Cube Builder Plate!
It has a coordinating stencil. But I decided to keep it as a simple background. Then I added some beautiful flowers from the Hill Blossom Set.
My second card has the gorgeous Golden Days bloom which has a layering stencil.
I tried some specialty ‘hot foil’ cardstock today and I was intriugued to see how the blended ink reacted! It’s almost like watercolour….
I added a heat embossed sentiment from the Beautiful Lady stamp set and used a Featured Sentiments Die.
I used the same cardstock for my next design with the Whisical Peony.
But this time the colour didn’t seem to blend as much. There is no overlay with the colours so I think that helped.
Stamping directly on this cardstock wasn’t an option. So I added another die cut sentiment.
My final card has absolutely ‘no foiling’. Yes, you heard me right.
This is the Folk Flowers Builder Stencil. And it was quick and easy to build a beautiful background.
I added a sentiment using the Here For You and Stone Mosaic Stamp Sets.

The Golden Days hot foil and stencil are a great combination! I am loving layered stencils for a fast and beautiful image–best crafting invention ever! The Whimsical Peony bundle has caught my eye, but will have to wait until next payday to reach my stash. 🙂
