How to Make Background Panels into BEAUTIFUL Cards!

Do you have a stash of background panels? Today I have 2 cards to share showing you a really quick way to make them into beautiful cards!

It all started with the Card Makers Success Summit and when I saw the amazing inky cards that were getting made I knew I had to join in the fun! So I created 2 quick backgrounds using some bright alcohol inks as well as the Alloy, Sterling.

And the best thing is that these quick and simple cards still let the background panels be the star of the show!

I decided to keep my floral images as ‘line art’ so that the colour did not compete with the busy backgrounds.

This card uses the beautiful Pressing Thoughts flower, which I popped up on the front of the panel.

My next flower is the Mondo Tulip and this time I adhered it directly to the panel.

But I did pop up the sentiment which is from the Casual Greetings Stamp Set. Can you see the sneaky foil that I added to the design?

What do you think? Will you get those background panels out and create some quick cards? If you do I’d love you to share them with me so son’t forget to tag me on Social Media so I can see them.

  1. You have inspired me to get my alcohol inks out again. These stunning backgrounds made amazing cards!

  2. Lovely cards! I don’t make a lot of backgrounds but I have a lot of patterned paper that looks like this. I just need to get my hands on some no-heat foil, to add a little shine, and then I could borrow this design! Thanks for sharing these!

  3. What a great way to use those beautiful panels. I love the idea of using the line art florals.

  4. I have a million ,well several alcohol ink panels in my stash just waiting to be used and the idea of the simple non coloured flowers has inspired me to have a go so thank you muchly.
