How to Make BEAUTIFUL Pastel Watercolor Layered Flower Cards + Video!

Do you have any layering flower dies? Today I have a fantastic idea with 2 different card examples!

But first… Did you know that this video is part of my Take 2 With Therese series of videos that I create for Altenew? You can check out the full playlist right HERE for more inspiration.

The Altenew Craft-A-Flower die sets are perfect for the technique that I have today! I am going to share 2 different ways to create pastel watercolor die cut layered flowers.

My first idea is to use ‘watercolour’ style Design Paper to create your flowers. Starting with the Craft-A-Flower: Rose.

Altenew - CAF - Rose - Bergenia Builder - Take 2 With Therese (card video) 1 copy

I added a fab Simple Frame 3D with splats of Antique Gold.

And a simple sentiment from the Bergenia Builder Stamp Set.

My second idea is to create your own pastel watercolour cardstock by dipping paper into Alcohol inks… you can see how in the video linked below. I was inspired by Ishani and you can see her video HERE.

Altenew - CAF - Magnolia -Birthday Greetings - Take 2 With Therese (card video) 2 copy

This time I used the Craft-A-Flower: Magnolia die set.

I added a Dotted Tile Debossing background and a sentiment from the Birthday Greetings Stamp Set.

  1. Absolutely gorgeous Therese. I love it when you resurrect some of our stash from the past. I have so much that has never been used because I’ve gone on to buy more before I’ve had a chance to use what I’ve just purchased. Thank you

  2. While I think the first card is my favourite (love the pink and turquoise together!), they are both so gorgeous. Will have to try your alcohol ink dip dye technique – that looks like fun!

  3. Therese – I like both cards – very pretty. I would pick the magnolia if I have to pick one as my favorite. Thanks for always sharing your talents with us. So appreciated,

  4. The flowers are beautiful in the soft colors, Therese. I may have to get my alcohol inks out and start dipping.

  5. These are beautiful. It never occurred to me to use my beautiful print papers for layers- it seems like such a simple idea and yet it never occurred to me. Thank you! Beautiful cards!
