Have you ever tried Emboss Resist? It’s so easy to do and such a fun technique that I just had to share 2 ideas!
But first… Did you know that this video is part of myTake 2 With Therese series of videos that I create for Altenew? You can check out the full playlist right HERE for more inspiration.
For both card designs I started out with a Pure White heat embossed Climbing Leaves Background. This embossed pattern will ‘Resist’ the mediums that I add which will, in turn, create the background patterns. And for a little extra FUN I wanted my cards to be rainbows today!

My first idea was to ink blend the rainbow using 3 Crisp Dye Inks. Using a Red, a Yellow and a Blue will give you a blended colour inbetween of Orange and Green!

I then used the coordinating Climbing Leaves die, which is my favourite part of this background stamp!

And I added a Mega Hello die cut with a sub-sentiment from the Bold Sentiments Stamp Set.

My second idea was to create the rainbow Emboss Resist background using the Artists Watercolors.

I did emboss this on Watercolor Paper Pad cardstock, to allow for the ‘extra water’ for the colours to mix.

And this time I thought it would be fun to add a frame and a Poised Flamingo, because, why not lol.

You can see my video here or Watch it in HD at YouTube.
I hope you are inspired to add rainbow Emboss Resist background to your cards! And if you do, I’d love to see it so please tag me on social media!

Beautiful, Therese. I especially like the first card. I love it so much I am going to use that method today. After my recipient gets the card I will post a picture and tag you! (I haven’t taken much time lately for posting but I do look at your posts and enjoy them – and I do make a card every single day).
