Have you ever tried watercolouring with Markers? Today I share 2 techniques and 2 cards to show you how much fun it can be!
ZSCM reached out to me and I was so happy to try their Dual Brush Watercolor Art Markers. They are very affordable and perfect to use with or without water. You can see them in action in my video linked below. AND I have a bonus Discount for you to SAVE 10% on your order, simply use this LINK HERE.
For both card designs today I used the Altenew Simply Spring Stamp Set. This meant that no ‘masking’ was needed and I could easily focus on colouring and with so many flowers in the bouquet I was able to try out so many of the colours.

I started with a bright bold colourful design. It was easy to build up the colours and shading with these markers, especially on the Bristol Smooth Cardstock.

And because I didn’t add too much water it helped speed up the process, but this style of colouring certainly still takes time.

I added a simple Hot Foiled sentiment from Ellen Hutson’s Way With Words Set.

My second idea was to create a similar card but a much quicker ‘washier’ version.

Although I did add some depth with a second layer of colour wash.

And this time I used a sentiment from the Casual Greetings Stamp Set.

You can see my video here or Watch it in HD at YouTube.
I hope you are inspired to try a little watercolouring with markers. And if you are, why not take a peek at ZSCM and use this LINK HERE for the discount. I hope you enjoyed these designs, do you have a favourite? Let me know in the comments below!

Hi Therese, I love both cards but I am a sucker for the bright colours. Beautiful.
Rene from OZ x
Thanks so much Rene, I love the brights too!
No matter the flower, or the medium, you always bring life to these images like no other, Therese! Just love them BOTH! x
=]
Thank you my friend x
these are both lovely but I think I prefer the light wash watercolors. Great stamp and paints.
Thank you Carolyn, it’s so easy to colour when you can stamp a ‘ready to use’ bouquet lol.
These are both beautiful. They look great on that oyster grey cardstock.
Thanks Christine, I’m trying to have ‘less’ all white backgrounds, so far, not much luck lol.
It’s hard to pick a favorite, Therese. I love bright colors but that wash-y one is so soft and pretty and may be easier for me to do.
Thanks so much Bobby, the wash-y one was much quicker and easier for sure.
So gorgeous, I love them both! I’m off to watch your video to see these markers in action.
Glad you like them, thank you Lisa x
Hola, Therese! Gosh, these are spectacular! Your coloring is so special and lovely. I’m always amazed!
Thank you Mari x
H Therese, Love these 2 coloring styles. Hard to pick a fav but today I’ll pick the lighter colored one.
Thank you Sheron x
Both beautiful Therese. You’re definitely the queen of the florals. My favourite is the pastel colouring â¤ï¸
That one seems to be the fave!
LOVE the bright and bolder card because there is nothing subtle about me 🙂
For technique, I would probably be able to do your “washy” card easier as I am still trying to have the patience to apply water color as layers. Both are lovely!
You are so sweet, thank you June
Love, love them both!
Thank you Dee
More gorgeous colouring!
Thank you x
Beautiful! Those markers look amazing and especially with you doing the coloring! Think the soft muted colors are my favorite.
