Ever needed a card right NOW? Today I made 5 different cards in under an hour… can you guess which one was the quickest? Yes, I was on a timer 🤣!
But first a reminder that the DEMO Day is happening this Saturday! And if you haven’t got your FREE TICKET yet, you still have time to join. It’s going to be a blast, with literally hours of inspiration and of course Giveaways!
And Yes, no pressure, I was on a timer on this LIVE… I know, did I have rocks in my head? I actually planned on making 4 cards but they came together so quickly that I made a BONUS card too! Let me know in the comments below which card you think was the fastest to make at 4:31 mins???

………………

I decided that a LIVE video would be a fun way to share my tips and tricks so that you could see these QUICK cards being made in real-time (scroll down for more pics and to see the video).
My TOP TIPS For Creating Cards QUICK!
- Ready to Use Card Bases. Whether you make your own from A4 cardstock or buy ‘pre-made’ card bases, this is a major time saver. I usually make a bunch all at once, especially if the mojo is low, it’s a great way to be productive without having to think.
- Use Design Paper. This is a fast and easy way to add colour. Today I used JJ’s Rainbow Sampler for all of the cards. This is a fabulous way to use our stash without the guilt.
- Fewer Layers. Adding less layers means that you can assemble the card faster, but it also means less bulk, resulting in postage savings.
- Use Leftovers. I have started stamping ‘extra’ sentiments or images to have on hand. Having this little stash is certainly a time saver, especially if I want a foiled sentiment, it’s all ready to use without having to get the machine out!
- Die Cut Words. It is much quicker to die cut a word than die cut letters then line them up and adhere them separately.
- Stamping. If you are adding stamped flower, choose a ‘bouquet’ style image to save time on multiple stamping and masking.
- Nesting Dies One of my favourite set of dies is the A2 Layers Die from Waffle Flower Crafts. I know that I can always use my trimmer to cut a rectangle (in fact, I did do this for many years) but since I bought these dies I haven’t looked back. It’s so much quicker and I know that it will be cut accurately and fit my cards perfectly every time.
- Copy a Card. I know this sounds obvious but why not Copy a card that you have made before. You can always change it up using different colours or stamps, but much of the guesswork how is taken away because you already know how it will look.
- Organize. Keep your stamps and dies organized so that you can find them easily. Then you will not waste time looking for that stamp that you know you have… somewhere.
- Make Decisions. Try not to procrastinate, make your decision and get on with it (this is the hardest tip for me lol).
- BONUS TIP: Why not make multiples, your supplies are already out in front of you, it’s just as easy to make a second card or even a third at the same time!
Idea #1 – Die Cut Outline
I love that the Spring Roses Die Set allows you to see the design paper through the negative spaces.

Even though there are layers on this card, everything is glued directly to the card front, this gives the look of dimension without the bulk.

Idea #2 – Shaped Die Cut
This card uses the Folk Hearts Die (which is sadly no longer available) but you could use any heart shape (or even try something totally different).

Wouldn’t the ‘U’ look great in sparkly black cardstock? Or as a negative space ‘U’ with some black cardstock beneath.

Idea #3 – Stamping on Design Paper
Silhouette images are perfect for this technique. I used the Wildflower Garden Stamp Set, but to make it quicker you could use an image that isn’t a layering one.

Having this ‘premade’ sentiment ready to go, from the Way With Words Set, makes the card even faster to assemble.

Idea #4 – Combining Stamps with Die Cuts
Choosing a floral image such as this Pristine Peonies, which is already a ‘bouquet’ will save time on masking and multiple stamping.

BONUS TIP: If you have larger number dies or an electronic die-cutting machine you could easily create a card with a design paper number as the focal point.

Idea #5 – Strips of Design Paper
BONUS CARD – What a great way to change up the look of your paper, or even use up those scrap strips!

This time I added a bold Mondo Hello ‘Hi’.
