Altenew December 2022 Marvellous Monthly Series & Alcohol Markers Set K Release Blog Hop + Giveaway ($300 in total prizes)!

Have you ever coloured with alcohol markers on coloured cardstock? Check out how the colours were affected in my card today!

But first, this post is part of a Hop celebrating a new release from Altenew so you should have arrived here from LAURIE’s wonderful Blog.

Card #1 – Rainbow Bright

And, before I show you how these colours look on coloured cardstock… I thought, I needed to show you just how they look IRL (in real life lol)! Please say hello to Set K. Otherwise known as the Beach Garden Set, and it’s the gorgeous new addition to Altenew’s Artist Marker collection.

I think they made the perfect rainbow for this bouquet from the Build-A-Garden: Rosa Gallica Stamp Set.

I had some fun with the sentiment, I decided to pop it up on a panel beside the design.

Card #2 – Coloured Cardstock

Next, and the reason why you are really here! I used the same colours, but this time I coloured them directly onto some green Forest Glades Cardstock.

Isn’t the difference incredible, imagine the possibilities, all of a sudden you have a whole separate set of colours.

But you can take it a step further if you want, there is also an Add-On Die available. I used this to cut out the coordinating sentiment.

  1. Such clever and remarkable ideas, I love the alcohol pen strips and stamping over the top, that’s just brilliant and fresh. Something I really love and haven’t seen before. The second design is marvellous . xx

  2. What a difference coloring on green card stock makes- I’ve never thought of doing that! Your cards are beautiful! I love the vivid colors on the first one.

  3. What a difference that colored cardstock makes, Therese! I’ve colored on kraft cardstock, but I don’t think I’ve ever thought of using other colors!
    Beautiful examples as always!

  4. I have to agree with the rest, I never think to use colored cardstock when I am coloring something, I always reach for white cardstock, I am going to have to try this on my next card.

  5. Love these new colors! I never think of using alcohol markers on colored cardstock, but your creations are stunning!

I love your cards, and the entire release. We have 5-7 inches of snow heading our way tomoro… but with this set, Spring is on my mind!💜

  12. So fun to see the colours with the totally different muted vibe on the green card stock. Thanks for showcasing the possibilities with these goodies.

  14. Hi Therese. I love your card examples to show how the same markers looks on two different colors of paper. Genius!!! I always use white paper, but now this opens a whole new avenue of ideas with colored paper. I love how the second card reminds me of a sepia tone. It has the feel of an antique or Victorian look. You are so creative. Thanks for sharing your cards with us.

    1. Thank you so much Bo, I agree, it’s amazing how different the background colours can affect the markers. Some cardstocks work better than others but it’s as easy as just trying on a scrap piece first. I hope you hve fun with this technique. Hugs Tx
