Once you ‘Pop-Up’… You can’t stop🤣! I’m addicted to interactive cards right now, and you can see
3 more DIY Pop-Up card ideas in this video right HERE. To see the close up photos and a load of Pop-Up tips and tricks click HERE. And now for today’s card, which was featured on a LIVE video (linked below)!
You do not need fancy dies and special supplies to create pop-up cards and today’s card can be adapted to suit whatever supplies you have on hand. So many images would suit this technique, a butterfly, a bird or even a floral design, take a peek at your stash and I’m sure you have something on hand that would suit!
Card Idea – Tab Pop-Up Technique
My previous tab card popped up 2 images but today I wanted to pop up just one in the centre of the card. I was inspired by Jennifer McGuire’s video HERE (it’s an oldie but a goodie)!

And as you know, I have been trying to smash my cardstock scrap stash (say that 3 times fast). So I thought one of the Swallowtail Butterflies from Altenew would make a beautiful ‘scrappy’ die cut centrepiece.

The flowers are from the Sweet Bouquet set, which I coloured with the coordinating stencils (the fastest way to add colour), and after a little mishap with the pigment ink I decided to add some Inky Bouquet stamped splatters.

Just look at the dimension of this butterfly. And it’s literally sitting up on two squares of cardstock folded and adhered to the centre of the card.
You can see the tabs I made (just a little bit) in the next photo.
PRO TIP: Use the same colour cardstock as your card base to create your tabs, this will make them less visible.

Next, it was time to decorate the card front. And of course, it had to coordinate…

To make life easier I actually used a piece of 80lb Neenah, decorated it and then added it to the front of the card.
