#CRITTERS4MEN

Cute and crittery isn’t my usual choice when I am making a masculine card. But did you know that it can be done, and here are some tips to help!

#MYTIPS

  • Not just any critter will do, look for an image that is not too ‘feminine or childish’.
  • Colour in masculine tones, for example, I don’t add pink to the cheeks when I am using alcohol markers, instead I typically choose a cream or light warm brown.
  • OR, change it up and add a ‘line art’ design instead, this can look bold and graphic!
  • Choose a bright combo or a neutral colour palette for men. This can be added with stencils, colouring or even coloured cardstock.
  • Keep it simple! Usually, I create a clean & simple (CAS) card designs for men’s cards.
  • Use fun elements, such as this Confetti Party Stencil, or this cool dude sitting on the chair.
  • Add bold simple sentiments or, step it up with a pun, especially if your men have a wicked sense of humour.
  • Do they have a hobby, favourite sport, like a drink, football team colours, you can make it personal without making it complicated.
  • Finally, add some ‘action’, why not make the card interactive, shake it, wobble it or even light it up!

Love the fun element that this stencil brings to this card. I decided to use a combination of inks but you could also use a tone on tone effect with just one colour of ink, if you prefer.

And this cool dude, is made for men’s cards, he has just the right amount of zing and it was unanimous… he had to added with a Wobbler!

  1. Such a cool dude – and he’s a pro at balancing his beverage while wobbling!
