#1DAISY-3CARDS

With just ONE daisy in every card, these designs came together very quickly. Did you know, that cards do not have to be complicated or take a degree to make? If you want some sweet cards real fast, then check out my three ideas today, and let’s start, with 3 bright pink FUN daisies!

***I also wanted to share, how excited I am that Altenew have decided to release A4 Cardstocks in co-ordinating ‘ink’ colours. I know right! Did you know that Altenew has had A4 cardstock for many years, it’s been one of my go-to’s, but to have the option of matching inks to colours… I have to say, that makes my heart happy!

Idea #1 – Background Pattern

So of course I chose the ‘Sea Glass’ cardstock to create a quick and easy background pattern. I chose these inks to add some ‘dotty’ details and YES, I know that it’s a Betterpress plate, but did you know that you can use it on regular cardstock link at stamp!

One daisy, adds an easy single focal point. The tone on tone background could be any pattern, but circles/dots add a versatile, modern look.

BONUS IDEA: Use a piece of design paper for a quick and easy background pattern option.

Idea #2 – Add Dimension

Another quick way to add dimension and texture is to use a 3D Embossing Folder. As luck would have it, these Daisies are perfect as I could use one of the leaves on the folder for my daisy. I added colour directly to the background embossing with an Artist Marker.

Step it up a notch and add some highlights to the embossing with a quick swipe of ink. I used a white ink here, but a tone on tone would look fabulous too.

PRO TIP: Any embossing folder would work for a dimensional background, you could even use a graphic patterned design with a great result.

Idea #3 – Add a Wreath

The reason I thought of a wreath is because this stamp set is based around a wreath. I know it may have taken me a couple of minutes to colour this one, but to be honest, it would look wonderful as ‘line-art’ too.

I love how versatile wreaths are, they can be used in any season and for many occasions too.

And did you see, still just ONE daisy!

  1. Beautiful cards and I just love the wreath. It’s simply gorgeous. Love the colours too! That’s a really useful stencil and I love how you used it, tone on tone. Thanks once again Therese. Love your work❤️

  2. I love your cards! I agree with others- the geometric background is stunning! I love the variety of cards with the single daisy as the focus. The last card would also be pretty with an embossed wreath and the colored daisy. So much inspiration Therese! Thank you so much.

  3. Fantastic cards! I so love the inspiration and artistry. The first card background is so fun! The second’s texture is perfect. And I really like the wreath in the last card- which would be wonderful to emboss as well.

  4. Wonderful cards!! I love how you used the daisy with three different products on your card! I have to start taking a good look at my stamps, dies and folders to try and do that also!

  5. With all these comments, how on earth was I the first “like”???? Well, regardless… I love what you’ve shared, the wreath in particular. I adore that your color palette is “tight” — similar across the three cards. You truly do inspire us!

  7. I always learn something from your videos and blog posts, Therese! Thank you for the idea of inking a press plate and using it like a stamp! Brilliant! Also, I have that daisies embossing folder and never to color the stem on the bottom and use it for a die cut flower! I’m definitely going to try that!

  8. great uses for Kelly’s stamps. love her design and your use. thanks as always for sharing and all the inspiration.

  9. Beautiful cards! All three designs are fabulous! I love all the ways you added dimension to the second card – especially inking the embossed background!

  10. Totally in love with these wonderful designs, so clean and crisp with modern twist. Love embossing too, its clever technique that gives you gorgeous effect. Hugs to you my friend xxx
