LIVE VIDEO: Without colour combos or a path to create these it’s easy to feel overwhelmed. Today we had some fun as we built a combo together and then made it into a card!

Today was in real time, LIVE, I walk through choosing colours for a layered floral die cut design. But the best thing is you can change these ideas up and make colour combos for any colouring medium you have too… OR. if you don’t have the coloured cardstock you want, why not ink blend some white cardstock instead!

Card #1
I decided to mix up the layers of colour today, but you could use multiple tones/tints/shades of the same colour for each flower instead.
This card is larger than my usual A2, it’s 5 X 7″ because I wanted the ’60’ to be the big star of the show. This gave me a LOT of space, which I am not used to and my CAS heart was struggling. The more I added the more I took away.
Though, you may notice that I got a little bold after the camera stopped rolling and I did add a few extra flowers and gems as instructed by you.
Card #2 – LEFT-OVERS (Second Helpings)
I did not want to put all of these beautiful flowers away… I knew that they would not be touched for an age, so I put my head down and threw this together in no time at all.
There is something to be said about making more than one card at a time. While the products are out and the magic is happening, why stop at one.
And I must confess, that I struggled with the camera today and the ‘orange’ colour did not photograph exactly right, it has a slightly ‘browner’ tone IRL.
Don’t be afraid to mix colours, if you are not sure, follow along with me in the video and grab your cardstock and make some combos. Then see how many things you add and remove from your card, before you settle on a final design. In fact I think you may just be a little faster than I lol.
