Jolly Christmas House Card – Craft Roulette Challenge #EncouragementCard

They spun the Craft Roulette wheel, and I got “Encouragement Card,” “Sophisticated”, “House Pets,” and “Thread or Twine.”
So naturally… I made a Christmas card with a black cat waiting by the door. 😄

Would you like to see my card, and the 4 parameters?

I was so happy to see you at the show, but if you did miss it don’t worry, you can watch the replay. And watch Mary & I, use these parameters to create 2 very different cards right HERE.

If you don’t have a clue what I am talking about, you can find out ALL about Craft Roulette right HERE.

Do you want to know my thoughts on today’s parameters?

Project: Encouragement Card

Not having a set card size made this parameter easy… except that “encouragement” to have a jolly Christmas might be stretching the rules just a little.

Colors: Sophisticated

Very doable – especially with the die set I chose! I immediately thought of navy blue, reds, and those rich “regal” tones. But honestly, this could just as easily work in soft pastels with a splash of gold.

Element: House Pet(s)

My first thought? Chickens, of course! But technically they don’t come inside the house (even if they are pets). I almost reached for my chicken stamps… until I remembered the cat die – and then the whole idea clicked into place.

Random: Thread or Twine

This one nearly tripped me up because I didn’t want to thread a needle or glue down twine. Then came my aha! moment – tinsel! A little gold gel pen shimmer on the tree, and parameter solved.

Here are a few more photos of my Jolly Christmas House Card…

Thank you to both Mary and Stephen for inviting me to play again, and to you for joining in, it was a blast!

This challenge definitely stretched my creativity in the best way! I hope my Jolly Christmas House Card gave you some festive inspiration too. And, the parameters work really well together, so I am excited to see what cards are dropped into the gallery.

If you get a chance I’d love to see how you are inspired to make a card, and if you do, please share it with me so I don’t miss it. And, if you are not a member at Craft Roulette you only have until Sunday night to get your cards uploaded HERE, so get those skates on!

Crafty Spinny Hugs,

Special thanks to my crafty assistant, Chad (aka ChatGPT), for helping me stay on track with my Gemini brain, grammar, and spelling… well, all the things! 😄

  1. I am so sorry I missed this episode, Therese! I know you had a blast – you always do! The parameters were really great, and you pulled them off just beautifully with your sophisticated house, cat, and gold garland!
I am extra sorry to have missed as I’m betting you would have sung happy birthday to me, right? x

  2. What a delightful way to get creativity sparked! I love your card, especially as it features a black cat, lol. The house is adorable, and the colours are perfect!

    1. I know right… thought I may have bit off more than I could chew but you know what it’s like, once you get an idea in your head it’s hard to swerve lol. Taking 5 minutes to find the die set did not help either… but I did copy a card that I’d already made that was similar which definitely made it quicker. Hugs to you my friend x
