#PICTUREFRAMES

My framing journey continues… it’s amazing how versatile picture frames can be when you start looking at them as design elements, not just borders.

Card #1 – Sentiment Spotlight

For this first design, I wanted to show how picture frame card ideas don’t always need to sit around the outside of an image – sometimes the frame is the feature.

By cutting the sentiment with the frame and popping it back into place, the greeting becomes part of the focal point while still letting that big ink-blended bouquet shine.

This is actually quite a clean and simple design, but that large floral image naturally takes centre stage, so it doesn’t need much else.

I just finished it with a little sequin bling for sparkle and balance – sometimes it’s the smallest details that pull everything together.

Card #2 – Floral Doorway

For this second design, I wanted to take the picture frame card ideas theme in a totally different direction. Instead of using the frames as borders or focal points, I repurposed the smaller frames as decorative door panels – and suddenly they became the perfect building blocks for a bright, welcoming doorway.

This design also leans clean and simple, but the bold orange door and surrounding floral details give it some fun personality.

A rhinestone door knob adds just enough shine, and I tucked a small embossed “hello” along the doorstep – which makes this a sweet option for a new home card, or really any occasion where you want to knock and say hi.

  1. So very beautiful, Therese! Yes, I could do an orange door – but not if my husband had anything to say about it!

  3. Your cards are lovely as always, but I am especially drawn to the spotlighted sentiment. Perfect font, placement, and framing.

  4. Thank you for showing us different ways to use the frame dies. I love how you incorporated them into your card designs. Beautiful coloring on your flowers.

  5. The rhinestone doorknob reminds me of the glass door knobs that used to be so popular during a certain era. Your cards are lovely. Thank you.

  6. Beautiful cards Therese. Love the pretty floral images… especially the flower clusters framing the orange door. Thank you for the inspiration!

  7. Beautiful cards, Therese. Love the smooth ink blending and the soft ink color choices. That door is so creative. Love it!

  8. Love the raised framed sentiment on your first card and the clever use of frames to create a door on your second!

  9. Hi Therese I just love your card with the sentiment frame. Such beautiful lavender colors in that floral. The sentiment frame really makes it pop. I love the clean simplicity of that card.

  10. You are truly so talented. I love the framed sentiment idea on the first and the great idea to make a door with them.

  11. Love that orange door – and the rhinestone for the doorknob reminds of some our doorknobs (our house was built in 1939) before we had to change them out. Beautiful cards!
