Easy Interactive Christmas Cards
Adding movement to a simple card design is such a fun way to make it feel a little more special. It’s unexpected, interactive and doesn’t necessarily need to be difficult.
Sometimes just one moving element is enough to completely change the feel of a card – whether it spins, shakes, swings or slides.

Card #1 – Let’s Take It for a Spin
I have been having so much fun with these new spinners and love that they can be used on nearly anything – did you see the spinning cupcake I made here?
This time, I thought it would be fun to spin my marshmallow snowman in the froth of the cup. And can you see the little red arrow stamped onto the snowflake stencil background? It gives you a clue that there’s something you need to do!
It’s a very clean and simple design, but that little bit of added movement is what makes this card so much fun.
Card #2 – Give it a Shake!
One of my favourite ways to add movement is to make a simple shaker. This time, I wanted the shaker bits to look like they were actually part of the froth, which meant I needed to do a little inlay die cutting – otherwise, the dimension just didn’t feel quite right.
I did consider using some Polar White flakes as the shaker elements, but from memory they can get a little static-y and don’t have quite the same shake as the Twinklets do. 😂
Again, it’s that little bit of movement that adds something extra to an otherwise clean and simple card.
