Video : Watercolouring with Tombows – Fairy Christmas!

Back to Colour with ‘U’  today and I thought it was about time to crack out my Tombow’s again and I wanted to use them with a watercolour technique.  It did take me a couple of attempts to make this card, initally I was going for an ‘all blue’ look and look where I ended up….    well, the sky is blue!

One of the most beautiful ‘flowers’ ever and so perfect on a Christmas card, especially in ‘gold’.  Our Poinsettias have just finished flowering as we are now heading into Spring / Summer here, but they do add such a brightness to the garden, actually I have a memory that they are not flowers but that they are coloured leaves?  Do you know, or did I dream that?  Oh, and I also decided to film as I coloured.

Just in time…  Merry Christmas to you all!   If things have gone to plan (ie a 7 hour drive Christmas eve with no hiccoughs) I am now at my brother’s enjoying a lovely relaxing Chrissy by the pool and enjoying some great food and bubbles.

Todays cards were published in the Australian Cardmaking, Stamping & Papercraft magazine for the ‘Just in Time’ feature where the call was to create two similar cards, one that was easy and one more detailed.  Me?   I like the clean and simple one.

Love using some non-traditional colours for a christmas card and these little Penny Black cats looked so cute holding their string of lights that I thought I would combine them with some cheery striped paper.  I decided to film as I coloured so you could watch.

Squishing in a last couple of Christmas cards before the big day.  This one is  CAS (and was hard to photograph) but I’m sure you get the drift.  This is a sweet little Penny Black stamp called Holly Tweet, easy to stamp and add a little shading and colour details with my Prismacolor Pencils.  I’ve got one more Chrissy video on Tuesday and I promise you, that’s it.

Snow is not something we have here in Australia at Christmas, so all those beautiful scenes / snowflakes / Wintery wishes, they are a little bit hard to sell when it’s a day at the beach with seafood and a  BBQ for us.  So when I saw this little fella I thought the ‘warm wishes’ he was perfect lol.
