I’m so excited to be taking part in Altenew’s 2017 January release and blog hop, and if you arrived here from Jennifer McGuire’s amazing blog then you are exactly where you need to be. Today we will be releasing 18 stamp sets, 18 die sets and 12 inks!
Today I have made three quite different cards from this amazing release starting with this sympathy card using the Be a Lighthouse stamp set. It’s hard to tell, but I’ve popped up the whole front panel so it looks like the Dark Gray cardstock is inset.
My second card is a little more modern, using the fab silhouette girl and matching die from Let the Wind Carry You. I’m still trying to work out if she’s holding a torch or a paintbrush… so I’ll let you decide. I also used some of the new colours from the release, bright greens, oranges and cool grays, it is a dream come true!
In true Altenew style the flowers from this release are amazing! So for my final card I combined two sets together to create this sweet vase. I used Smile More and Life is Beautiful along with some Altenew Artist Marker alcohol colouring (they are so beautiful to colour with… I can’t wait for Altenew to make markers in all their ink colours, hint)

These are all fantastic, Therese … the lighthouse is so atmospheric (my fave!), the blooms are beautiful, and the multi coloured splats with the silhouette is positively funky! The lighthouse card is like a beautiful pen and ink drawing, Therese, and makes a wonderful sympathy. If by ‘torch’ you mean flashlight, I’d say yes that’s what she’s shining on the splats of color. I love how you combined the flowers from one set with the vase from the other.

Your cards are lovely and so original! I love the all grey/white card and how you raised the border of the card and the middle portion to make the second level look recessed! Using the splash of different inks on the second card instead of the usual circles was ingenious! And the third card was as different a style as the first two were. Wow, you did some beautiful cards! That gray tones and the lighthouse are just beautiful. I can just see this as a sympathy card like you said. Those colorful splatters are so much fun! I love them! I am all about colors although you probably wouldn’t use a lot of colors for a sympathy card. Those flowers in the vase are beautiful! They really look like they are in water but I know that’s how you colored the vase. You’re coloring is so nice.

All the cards are fantastic but so different! Love the simplicity on the Lighthouse card, the colors on the ink blot card (double colored-so clever) and the flowers on the third are just beautifully done. Thanks!

The lighthouse was my favourite, which surprised me. I don’t usually like stamped impressions of them. You used the grey so skillfully.
