Altenew have added to their fun stencil collection and we are hopping to celebrate and you should have arrived here from VIRGINIA’s wonderful Blog. I made some fun cards with this release, so scroll down to see them and the video that I have made showcasing the fab new Grid Stencil as well as to find out how you can WIN!
Let’s start with the cheery. It was time to get out the Layered Cupcake stamp set and for something a little different I decided to emboss with the Grid Stencil (the video below shows you the process).
it’s ‘no line’ layered stamping today for my cupcake…
Now on to a more serious design lol. as I decided that this card would make a great sympathy design. The background is Real Gray Cardstock and I added some silver embossing paste with the Splatter Stencil.
The flowers were from Garden Treasure and watercoloured with Tombow markers and the leaves from the Doodle Blooms Stamp Set. My sentiment came from the Thinking of You stamp set and heat embossed with the beautiful new Antique Silver powder. It’s a very small font and it worked perfectly first time
I wanted a tone on tone background for my final card so I used the Layered Kaleidoscope Stencil A with the Deep Iris cardstock and the matching Crisp Dye Ink.
My flowers are from Magnolias for Her and subtly coloured with grey Copics. I stamped a sentiment from Quilled Elegance in Deep Iris ink and popped this up on a panel beneath the flowers.

All 3 are really graceful presentations of hand-made cards. I was being too literal in my thinking about the splatter stencil, assuming that it could really only be used with paint….why not use it as you would any other stencil. Brilliant. Really pretty.

This card in adorable… love the pastel colors. I look forward to all your videos.
What beautiful cards! The dry embossed background from a stencil is such a great combination with the circle stamps — they belong together. Those color combination with the white magnolias and purple background is stunning! I love that card!

I think all these cards are beautiful but I LOVE the cupcake card!!! Great use of the stencils.
More beautiful cards! Love them. The purple/ violet tone on tone is so pretty.
I just have to start out by saying WOW! Your cards are stunning! The card with the cupcake is a fave because of those beautiful circles in the background and the way you did them. They almost look etherial.
I love the cards with the blue flowers and you are right, it is a good sympathy card. That’s the one card I always have trouble making because it’s so personal and sad. I always cry reading the sympathy cards from Hallmark and my dad passed away on March 20th so we got plenty of those cards for me to cry over.
Last but not least is your purple background card with the flowers. I really like that purple color. It’s so stunning!
Thanks for letting us see your pretty cards and for giving us the chance to win something. I want a bunch of those stencils when I win!
Wonderful cards! I love the impression on the first card and that tone on tone purple is such a bold background on the last one!
Gorgeous cards!! That floral card with blue flowers is my most favorite, so so pretty. 🙂

Really pretty cards. The new stencils look so good
Hello, as always your cards are great and inspiring. I have a question have you used the layered dahlia? I just received my stencil yesterday and I have played for what seams like hours and can not get it to work. Do you have any suggestions? Also a video might be helpful. Thanks
Hi Gail, I haven’t used the layered dahlia as yet, but will definitely add a video to my ‘to do’ list. I do know that Jennifer McGuire used these stencils in her cards which may help, here is the link http://www.jennifermcguireink.com/2017/06/stencils.html
Hope this helps. Thanks so much for visiting and commenting, Hugs Therese
